Yep, he crashed back into the couch and was back to covering his eyes. “I’m trying not to be. I’ve just never had friends like you in my life.”

We were kind of unique.

“You’re doing great.” Alick was really good at making Stefan feel confident and not weird about talking about sex. “You pushed through how nervous it made you when you knew it was important information for Lorne.”

“It really was.” Flopping back on the floor, I smiled as Stefan chuckled. “Master keeps trying to be helpful and we haven’t been letting him. But in our defense, no one needs an extra arm or anything like that.”

Kenzie looked over at me and frowned. “Sometimes I’m pretty sure he’s just fucking with you.”

“Possibly, but it’s hard to tell when he’s doing that.” I shrugged as they all tried not to laugh. “But I think this project will be a good way of making him feel useful and like he can use his magic to help us.”

Stefan made a low thinking sound. “You know, he might relax a bit if he did feel useful. Being able to do things for your mate seems to be a big part of the…I don’t know how to word it, but that seems to be a strong aspect of the bond for mages especially.”

“Oh.” That made sense, unfortunately. “Okay, time to talk to Daddy.”

Would it work from this far away?

Closing my eyes, I found Daddy’s wire and made it brighter. Nudging it didn’t do much but plucking it like a guitar string had Daddy’s laughter filling my head.

“What are you doing, monkey?”

I was amazing.

“Yay, it worked. I wasn’t sure if we were too far away.”

As his happiness filled my mind, I explained to Daddy what Stefan had said.

“We won’t get broke and other people did it…and it would make him feel useful, Daddy.”

Daddy groaned, somewhere between a frustrated sound and capitulation.

“But is that what you want? We’re not rushing into double penetration just to be nice to Carrick.”

Well, when he said it like that…

“Yes, Daddy. I like the idea of our first time being all of our first time together. And I’ll even promise Carrick not to talk about it at the diner.”

His question also brought up another point.

“You don’t have to want that, though, Daddy. Just because we have good knowledge doesn’t mean we have to use it.”

He chuckled but it was a sexy kind that sent a shiver through me.

“I don’t have to want to fill my mate up so good he can’t stop orgasming? I don’t have to want to feel Carrick’s cock sliding against mine? That’s good to know.”

Daddy flashed me a thought or almost a feeling of my dick rubbing against Carrick’s and I knew it was his because I hadn’t done that with our mage yet. We kind of kept getting too distracted with other fun things.

“Naughty Daddy. Now you made me hard.”

He laughed again.

“You started it. I’m going to have to hide behind my desk for a few minutes until I get more presentable.”

I must not have felt sorry enough about that because he laughed again.

“Okay, go back to your friends and I’ll talk to you later. I’m starting to get weird looks.”

Giggling, I turned the wire back down to its softest color and opened my eyes.

Now I was the one getting weird looks.

“What were you doing?” Stefan seemed to have lost his embarrassment now that he had something new to focus on.

Me.

“Talking to Daddy.” I grinned as they all looked slightly confused. “Let me tell you what I learned.”

Chapter 27

Carrick

My mates had been loving, supportive, and had even asked me to change the color of Lorne’s shirt before we’d gone into the restaurant. It’d needed to be changed because the original color had been an eye-bleeding green that’d looked like he’d been attacked by something radioactive.

But it was fishy as fuck…and Lorne’s sweet mate routine made it even more sketchy.

“Would you like to come back to my place after dinner?” Lorne would’ve made me worry less if he’d been more himself.

This updated version was a bit too grown-up to be real.

But the blue I’d picked out for him looked amazing and there was still just enough sparkle in the fabric to make it look very Lorne.

“I was thinking that we could have dessert because Kenzie had a cake he said we could have.” Shrugging, Lorne finally looked like Lorne. “His Daddy said there were only so many treats they could have around the house, so he decided to keep the cupcakes and the cheesecake and give us the chocolate one. It looks delicious.”

And he was back to looking like a pod person.

I was starting to see why Kenzie’s Daddy had thought we were aliens.

“That sounds lovely.” Monroe was trying too hard as well, so he obviously knew something was up and was in on the secret.
