Lorne huffed. “Am not.”

“You trade in your car every six months.” Monroe was shaking his head and looking slightly horrified. “That’s just…”

“That’s just when they stop being shiny.” Lorne rolled his eyes like he thought that should’ve been obvious. “Even the nice smell is gone by that point.”

Dragons above.

Monroe actually stopped in the middle of the parking lot, almost getting us hit by a car who seemed to think they were on a European racetrack. “What?”

To keep Monroe from having a heart attack, I jumped back into the conversation. “I can help with that. I have a spell that will make cleaning it easier and we can touch up the paint to make it shiny again any time you think it’s starting to look dull.”

As Monroe’s mouth just kept opening and closing, Lorne bounced and beamed. “That would be lovely. I like this one and I was getting sad that I’d have to trade it in. You’re so much smarter than the man at the dealership.”

Looking up at the sky, Monroe seemed to be praying to an ancient god or maybe asking the ancestors for patience, so Lorne and I both just ignored him.

“Some people aren’t very smart.” And some were devious assholes. “I’m glad to help.”

For some reason that got a naughty giggle from Lorne as he walked forward, dragging us with him. “Stefan told me that he read a diary that said mages could be very helpful.”

Somehow he made that sound dirty, but I wasn’t sure how we’d gotten to that point.

“I’m not sure if I should ask what you mean, but I’m going to ask what you mean.” That had Lorne looking like he was going to pout, so I tried to shift the tone. “You were so romantic you’re giving me thoughts and I don’t want to ruin your plans.”

And he was back to bouncing.

“I have very good plans that might be different than your plans but all naughty plans are appreciated.” Sighing happily, Lorne somehow bounced us faster toward the car. He was almost looking like a rabbit shifter from one of his dirty books instead of a dragon, but I kept that thought to myself just in case it might come across poorly.

It was hard to guess what would insult a dragon sometimes.

“I’m glad.” As I tried to decide what response would get me actual answers, Lorne finally reached his car and turned to me expectantly.

Kissing him took up several seconds and gave me more processing time, but Monroe’s smirk as I pulled away said he’d guessed what I’d done.

Dragons were such brats.

But I played along and trailed my fingers up Lorne’s arm before wrapping my hand around his neck and tightening just enough that submission flowed through our needy boy. As he went wobbly and sighed, I kissed his nose. “That’s my good boy. Tell me about your plans because mine were about tying you up and doing wicked things to you. Painful things.”

“Cheater.” Monroe’s quiet drama made me want to laugh.

“Your Daddy’s so silly.” Ignoring the dramatic dragon’s huff, I massaged Lorne’s neck and brought him closer against my body. “What would be better than bending you over my lap and making your ass pretty and pink?”

“Oh.” Lorne let out a soft breath, and it took him several long moments before he could find an actual response. “Having you both inside me at the same time might be better. We thought it sounded good. But I do love being spanked.”

We?

I had a feeling he hadn’t been referring to himself and Monroe, so I ignored that part. The rest was much more important anyway.

“Picking that would be selfish.” Smiling up at me, Lorne looked like he thought that nothing surprising had come out of his mouth. “And I would like to spend intimate time with both my mates, not just get something for myself. It’s not my birthday.”

I wasn’t going to admit to there being any logic in what he’d just said, so I went back to what seemed to be the original point. “I think we should work our way up to double penetration, but I approve of the idea in theory. That’s not a good way to hurt you, though.”

The conversations I had to have with my mates.

And speaking of mates, I looked over at Monroe and raised one brow. “You agreed with this?”

He huffed, releasing Lorne’s hand so he could cross his arms over his chest. “You didn’t hear all of it.”

“Alright.” I could think of a few things that would make it reasonable but nothing I thought they’d agree to. “Please explain.”

Lorne looked around the parking lot. “Here?”

It wasn’t the best place to have the conversation but he was crazy if he thought I was going to wait. “Yes.”

Shrugging like I made no sense at all, Lorne didn’t question my sanity. “Stefan read a diary that had some fun mates in it and the guy who wrote it mentioned a spell his mage did to make sure his needy little bottom mate didn’t get hurt.”
