It didn’t seem as if they were in any rush to leave their seats. No, they were kicked back and waiting on the man himself.

When she turned back to Danny, she found him not staring at his friends, but her instead. “Do you want me to have them removed?”

He sighed. “No. While that would serve them right, I’ll handle it.”

She rolled her lips under at the resignation in his voice, proving his friends weren’t there for support but to bust his balls. “All right, then. Once I have a few words with Nick, I’ll start shutting things down for the night so I can get out of here as soon as everyone is gone.”

“I’ll make sure they leave here in a few.”

She nodded. “I want to thank you again for dinner the other night. It was nice.”

His jaw shifted and he glanced down at her, his face far too serious. “Hey, can you stick around after? I’d like to talk to you about something.”

“What?”

He shook his head. “I can’t talk about it here…”

Well, damn. It didn’t sound like it would be another dinner invitation.

When he continued, he lowered his voice even further. “For the same reasons you don’t want to bring up certain subjects in the club. After I deal with those assholes, we can talk.”

“Where?”

“Where’s a safe place to go?”

“The diner?”

He shook his head. “No. Not in public.”

Her heart began to thump heavily. She had no idea what it could be about, especially since he was worried about being overheard. She assumed by the Demons.

A shiver slithered down her spine.

That couldn’t be good.

Chapter Twelve

“I just need a few minutes of your time,” he murmured, his attention caught on the tiny mole right above the left side of her upper lip. It was sexy as fuck and he had the crazy urge to taste it.

“Okay,” she whispered with her brow furrowed.

Her eye color kept him guessing. One second they appeared blue, the next a light green. The color combination reminded him of the ebb and flow of the Caribbean Sea.

A surf he could easily drown in.

“How about once you’re done with your friends, I meet you backstage? We can decide then where to go for privacy.”

As she talked, he picked up the sweet smell of her breath, most likely from whatever she’d been sipping while behind the bar. Of course he noticed her drinking because every minute he’d been on stage, his stupid ass kept track of her wherever she went in the large room.

The struggle had been real when it came to keeping his eyes off her and concentrating on his routines instead. She was the kind of woman to catch his attention and keep it. Not an easy feat.

It wasn’t only the way she looked or even the way she dressed. It was also the way she moved. The way she spoke. The way she dealt with both the public and her employees.

All impressive and attention-worthy.

Her confidence only added to the mix. Especially how she didn’t tuck tail and run when the Demons infiltrated her place of employment.

The MC wasn’t chasing her out; she’d walk away when she was good and ready.

All of that turned him the fuck on.

Tonight, her blonde hair was pulled up, but not in any type of severe hairstyle. The style was soft and sexy with long, loose strands framing her face. Long sparkly earrings dangled from both lobes and the matching gem in her right nostril glinted whenever she moved under the club’s lights.

Her deep green blouse seemed to be nothing more than a silk scarf draped around her neck and encasing her tits. Her exposed firm belly gave him—and everyone else, including his asshole club brothers—a view of a navel piercing, also the kind with dangling jewels.

Her skin-tight white pants left no doubt she wasn’t wearing underwear. Her three-inch spiked heels matched the color of her blouse. If that scrap of fabric could even be called a blouse.

He was surprised his club brothers hadn’t been all over her, especially since those three were horndogs.

“I’ll be in the back,” she announced, her nostrils slightly flared and a sparkle in her eyes.

Apparently, he hadn’t been too stealthy when he checked her out up close and personal.

“I’ll find you.” He remained where he stood while watching Mel head backstage.

The back of her blouse was completely open, teasing him with the tempting line of her spine. Two thin gold chains crisscrossed her smooth skin to hold the drapey fabric together. Being a former stripper, she probably knew techniques to keep everything in place since she couldn’t be wearing a bra, just like she wasn’t wearing panties.

Finn pulled in a breath.

Maybe he should scratch the idea of becoming her “fake” boyfriend. There was nothing “fake” about what he wanted to do with her.

He shook those thoughts free and reluctantly turned his attention to the table in the far corner. Sucking in a bolstering breath, he donned invisible armor since he was damn sure he’d need it.
