“I will be.” I smiled.

He rolled his eyes. “Honey, I’ve been there. Just stop. Whatever you’re hiding, let your Daddies handle it—trust me on this.”

“But I’m fi—”

“Bitch, I dare you to lie to me.”

I shut my mouth.

He washed his hands and tilted his head at me. “Tell me. I’m your friend, remember?”

“I…” I hauled in a breath when my phone vibrated again. For one second, I closed my eyes and prayed it wasn’t Vincent. “It’s something,” I whispered and pulled out my phone. Fuck, it was from him. “I don’t know what to do about Vincent.”

I read his message.

Ten years, I’ve been by your side. Now, nothing? No…’cause you’ve got your new boyfriends, and they take care of everything. Fucking great. Thanks, Kit.

My eyes welled up with burning tears, and I bit down on my lip.

“Aw, hell no.” Abel grabbed the phone from me. “The fuck is his problem?”

I sniffled. “A few days after Colt and Lucas moved in, they picked up their car in Alexandria because my garage was empty. And…” Oh God, I felt so bad. “Thing is, I’d told Vincent right before that I had so many plans. That Vincent and I were going to drive around and check things out for the redecorating. But then Colt and Lucas wanted to come with me, and I thought…I thought…I don’t know what I thought.”

“It doesn’t matter. I understand.” He frowned at my phone and gave it back to me. “Why doesn’t Vincent get it? I mean, you’re in love and want to spend time with your men. He should understand that.”

Maybe.

Abel shook his head. “No, no, wait. I remember you telling me that you’d been honest with him. You’d said you couldn’t guarantee that you’d need him as much when Colt and Lucas lived here. What happened with that?”

“I-I don’t know?” Either way, I felt like I was losing. I couldn’t please everyone. “Fuck, what should I do? I don’t want to spend less time with Colt and Lucas, but Vincent has been with me for over a decade.”

He chewed on his lip, thinking hard. But then he shook his head again. “I’m not even gonna try. This is why you’re supposed to tell your Doms. You have to. They will help you. In fact—” He stalked out of the bathroom, and I wondered what the hell he was up to. He stopped at the railing. “We have an emergency up here!” he yelled.

“Abel!” I whisper-shouted.

He wasn’t done. “This requires one fighter pilot and one dude who looks hot in Hugo Boss!”

I let out a weird sound and looked at him strangely. “How can you identify suit brands like that?”

“Because that’s what we should focus on here,” he drawled.

I rolled my eyes and stalked into the bathroom again where I slumped down on the closed toilet lid.

Colt was the first one I heard coming up the stairs. “For the record, I could be both those guys, but you don’t call me dude, subbie.”

“Shit,” Abel said sheepishly. “I clearly meant Sir.”

“Clearly,” Colt chuckled. “What’s the emergency?”

“In there.”

I groaned internally and buried my face in my hands.

Lucas wasn’t far behind, and then I had my Daddies squatting down in front of me where I sat, and I was sort of embarrassed.

“I’m sorry. I should be able to handle this myself,” I mumbled.

“Probably not,” Colt replied. “What’s up?”

“Talk to us, sweetheart.” Lucas gave my knee a gentle squeeze.

Thinking about Vincent’s last text, the guilt and hurt made a swift return, and I lost my words. My throat felt thick, and I struggled to keep from getting weepy again.

“It’s—it’s Vincent.” I pulled out my phone and showed them the texts. “I have to make things right with him.” What an idiot I was. Of course, I couldn’t hold back the tears. It was me. I didn’t have my shit together. I sniffled and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand as they read the texts.

Lucas stood up abruptly, and I frowned up at him. His expression caught me off guard; he was freaking fuming.

“Daddy, I’ll fix this,” I rushed to say.

“Not you, dear. I’m not mad at you.” He pinched the bridge of his nose. “Colt, tell me I shouldn’t call that son of a bitch right fucking now. He has no goddamn right to push that guilt on to Kit.”

“Gimme a minute. Can’t be diplomatic yet.” Colt stood up too, and he rolled his shoulders and took a deep breath. “Okay. Let’s be smart.”

“You’re the one with the service gun, not me,” Lucas replied flatly.

My eyes widened. What was happening here?!

Colt snorted and stared up at the ceiling, his hands on his hips. “We’re protective because of who we are and because it’s our boy, so we wanna beat Vinnie up, but—”

“Yes, let’s go.”

“Daddy, no!” Panic filled me, and I bolted after Lucas and grabbed on to his arm. “You c-can’t!”
