“Fuckers.” I laughed so hard I almost got dunked again. “Naughty naughty.”

Daddy’s head thudded against the wall as he leaned back and looked up at the ceiling. “Dragons above.”

Best Daddy. Best Papa.

Silly Daddy. Naughty Papa.

Oops.

“I careful. Promise.”

Frowning Daddy. Laughing Papa. Slippery tub.

“You’re not being careful.” Daddy was very Daddy and worried. “Let’s get you clean and then you can play or we’ll pick out something pretty for you to wear to bed. I have a pretty nightgown for a sparkly cutie.”

Oh.

“Fancy sparkly?” Daddy needed hugs and kisses for fancy sparkly.

“Sit.” Daddy was fast. “Okay, if you fall one more time, I’m going to have Carrick make you a seat belt for the tub.”

Daddy made me laugh and laugh. “Tentacles, Papa. Tentacle seat belt.”

“You’re going to have to explain that one.” Daddy was funny and frowned at Papa as Daddy grabbed the washcloth. “That didn’t make any sense.”

As Daddy started scrubbing me all clean—no more sauce—Papa laughed. “It’s probably in one of the books he sent me. There was a series on aliens with tentacles.”

Yay.

“Papa. My books.” I grabbed at him but he was too far away. “My books, Papa. Funny.”

Papa was trying not to laugh but he nodded. “They’re funny alright. I’m going to have to figure out what a bathtub seat belt is and why it’s so funny, though.”

“Sit still or you’re going to drown.” Daddy was so worried Papa came over and patted his head.

“Being cute isn’t going to help.” Daddy thought Papa was cute.

Papa got his naughty face. “I’m always helpful.”

Papa was so funny even Daddy was trying not to smile. “Just talk to him while I scrub. He has barbecue sauce on his back.”

“Sticky.” I shrugged as Papa scrunched up his face but I showed him my fingers. “Clean. Come, Papa.”

Papa laughed. “You have one or two places on your entire body that are clean, monkey.”

“One.” I wiggled my hands.

“Two.” I looked down at my penis, making Daddy laugh and Papa groan.

“Monkey.” Papa was so funny. He made faces and sounds and sighed, but he was a good Papa and sat down by Daddy. “Okay, um, should we talk about your books? Oh, what about the clothes your Daddy picked out for you?”

Yes.

Oh.

“Papa? New sparklies?” Wiggle. Wiggle. No dunks. Careful. Careful. “See?”

Papa was confused, so I grabbed his arm. “Oh, my watch? I don’t think you’ve seen this one yet.”

Good.

Bad.

Real.

Ugh.

Sparkly.

Ugh.

Plastic.

No sparkly.

“Papa. No.” Closer. Closer. “Papa. Shiny.”

Gonna have to help Papa.

How?

Oh, dear.

“It’s pretty, isn’t it?” Papa made me groan. He laughed. “When you’re all clean, I’ll let you cuddle and look at it more. Would you like that?”

“Yes.” Yes. Had to look. “I figure out, Papa. Smart.”

Papa bought weird shinies.

Chapter 15

Carrick

“I like the logic, but I’m not sure your Daddy will approve.” My dry response to Lorne’s ridiculous suggestion had the wiggly monkey giggling and his Daddy groaning.

It seemed like it was his turn to be grumpy, and the dragon had definitely woken up on the wrong side of the bed.

Lorne knew which Dom to bug this time and wiggled around like helicopter blades before trying his logic again on a new target. “I would like our pancake date this morning, Sir. I’ll even help make them but I can’t do the whole thing because then it won’t be a date.”

Monroe snorted, which had Lorne burying his giggle face against my chest as his Daddy tried to use logic. “This is the same date that we started last night.”

Managing to get his delight under control, Lorne pulled back and tried a pout next. “But, Sir, this is a-whole-nother day, so it can’t be the same date. It’s even a different meal.”

I was going to side with the monkey even if it made Monroe nuts.

“I agree. Different day. Different meal. Different clothes.” Somewhere during the night, Lorne had lost most of his, so that seemed to count too. His nightdress had disappeared, but from the flash I’d gotten as he wiggled, his sparkly panties were still in place.

Lorne lifted his chest and looked down at his body. “Oh, I got hot. You’re both a thousand zillion degrees when you sleep.”

Was that why he kept ending up on top of us?

I wasn’t sure what we could do about it, but I mentally added that to my to-do list. “You’re not going to melt.”

That got another giggle from him and he wiggled. “Am so. I’m your sugar. I’m sure you said so.”

It was my turn to snort. “No one in town would believe that, monkey.”

Lorne was grinning ear to ear as he squirmed on top of me, deliberately trying to get a rise out of me that time. “But they could be talked into agreeing that it’s at least our third date.”

“Hmm, let’s see.” Kissing his nose to get another happy sound from the nearly naked cutie, I frowned. “Noodle date at my house.”
