He’d parked at the back of the lot, between a dumpster and the wooden fence that boxed the space in. It was fairly secluded, something that was impossible not to notice as he opened the passenger door. I started to reach in for my jacket at the same time he did, and we both pulled back at the same time, laughing uneasily together.
“Guess it wouldn’t have been much of a first date without an awkward moment like that.” I reached in and grabbed my jacket, then slipped out of the car and turned to Sawyer.
Those eyes were right on me once again. So beautiful. So mesmerizing.
“You know, it’s polite to kiss a girl good night after the first date,” I teased, moving closer to him.
The grin that formed easily rivaled that sexy, stoic look I was much more used to. “Oh, is that right?” He moved slightly closer, until our lips were just inches apart. “I figured you were the kind of guy who’d just take one if that’s what you wanted.”
“I can’t really know until I have a taste—”
Before I could finish my sentence, he moved at me quickly, his mouth slamming against mine as he pushed my body back against the side of the car.
It wasn’t some chaste, jokey kiss I might have expected from Sawyer. No, he really was game on as his tongue slid against my own, his hand cupping my ass.
From my core, stretching outward, my body vibrated to my goddamn fingertips as his mouth traveled from my mouth, down to my chin, to my neck, where he bit and nipped as I rolled my head back.
It was some chemical reaction, some atomic explosion as our bodies touched, his tongue sweeping across my flesh effortlessly. There was a scramble, a sort of wrestling match, as I lost track of logic and reason…and just craved his body against mine.
I relaxed on my back, on what must’ve been the car-seat cushion, as he crawled over me. We tugged and fought in a frenzied passion until he pulled back and rolled me onto my side. I was grappling with this animal within him, reveling in the way he growled as he slid down my body, tugging the back of my jeans down.
Where were we again?
As I felt my senses returning, I glanced around. At some point in our tussle, we’d made it into the back of his car.
Was I that drunk? Or that high off whatever the hell kind of chemistry we had that had made my thoughts scramble the moment our lips touched?
I lay on my side as Sawyer, on his knees, leaned down to bite at my exposed ass cheek.
It was evident by the way we were going at it that neither of us was thinking clearly. A little tipsy and a lot horny. Everything in me told me to surrender. We could abandon ourselves to the moment, and he could free me of the pain I’d been experiencing all day.
But as he pulled away and looked at me, I could see his hesitation.
“I…I’ve never kissed anyone like that before,” he said, sounding as flustered as I felt.
It was as though we’d both finally returned to our senses.
Oh, what had I done? I’d fucked it up.
I should have just lunged at him. We could finish what we’d started, right there, in the back of his car. He could fuck me the way I needed to be fucked, and I could make him so fucking happy. Pleasure the animal I’d known was in there all along. Let him show me everything he’d been hiding, just as I’d shown him all I’d been hiding.
But it was wrong.
“I’m sorry,” I spit out.
“Yeah, me too.”
“No, it’s fine. I just…need to catch an Uber.”
“Yes, totally.”
He opened the back door and slid out. As I hurried out, I pulled my pants back up, recovering from the intense passion we’d worked up back there. My cheeks—face and ass—were on fucking fire from the way he’d handled me.
It ached to walk away from it, but it was too late.
I’d actually started to like him, and it seemed he was feeling the same way about me, and then I went and acted like the sex-crazed prick Sawyer already assumed I was.
He would have hated me if he’d followed through, I just knew it.
Of course, he probably hated me already for letting things get as far as they had. I’d confirmed everything he assumed about me when he saw me on my knees with that guy at Fever.
Fuck me, fuck me, fuck me.
Although, I would have rather been screaming out those words while continuing with what we were up to in the back of his car.
CHAPTER EIGHT
Sawyer
I asked a guy on a date last night. It was a first for me. We were halfway through when he went to the bathroom and never came back.
