Because damn… That was the hottest fucking kiss she was ever a part of.

Evident from the way he was still gulping down air, he might agree.

“Only okay, Kitten? How about we finish this somewhere other than the kitchen? A place you can unsheathe those razor-sharp claws.”

Of course, she had no desire to resist when he grabbed her arm and dragged her through the apartment directly to his room.

That night ended up being the first of many she no longer rolled out of his bed and went to sleep in her own room after they got “down and dirty.”

Just like the Dirty Angels motto…

She hoped to get down and dirty with him many more times, even possibly until she was dead.

Chapter Twenty-Three

Fletch blinked open his eyes, then dragged a hand across them to bring the mirror on the ceiling into focus.

In it was the view he now saw just about every morning.

Nova.

Totally fucking naked and sprawled across his chest.

He grinned at that sexy as fuck sight.

Sometime during the early morning hours, the top sheet had been kicked down to the end of the bed since both of them overheated from sleeping skin to skin. That problem could be avoided if they each slept on their own side of the bed but for some reason, that never happened.

They went to bed touching, fell asleep touching and woke up touching, too.

He dragged his fingertips lightly up her spine and over her tattoo.

No Fear. No Limits. No Regrets.

He couldn’t argue those words didn’t fit her perfectly.

Just like she fit him perfectly.

And, of course, he fit inside her perfectly.

One side of his mouth lifted higher and he brushed a knuckle down her smooth cheek. He usually woke before her since he was naturally an early riser but didn’t find it a hardship to remain in bed until she woke, too.

He lifted his head to listen more carefully to what disturbed his sleep. “What is that?”

“What?” she murmured sleepily, her eyelids still pinned shut. With a groan, she snuggled closer, nuzzling her nose against his chest.

“That noise. Listen. Is that a phone?”

“Could be my vibrator.”

Unless her sex toy was haunted, it was not her vibrator. She still had to be half asleep to give that answer. “I sure as hell hope not. Because if you’ve needed that lately, I’m slacking in the satisfaction department.”

She lightly patted his chest as if that was supposed to appease him. “Sounds like a phone.”

He frowned. “Whose?”

She finally blinked her eyes open and raised her head. They heard it again. “It could be mine.”

“Your task force phone is on the charger on your nightstand. Mine is on my nightstand. It’s neither of them.”

The vibrating stopped. “Probably my personal one. Who the fuck would be calling me at this time in the morning?” With a loud yawn, she rolled out of bed completely naked and still appearing half asleep.

She was not a morning person. Actually she didn’t become half human until she finished her first mug of coffee. It took a second mug to complete the transformation into a living, breathing woman.

But even as a zombie, her being naked was a breathtaking, dick-hardening sight. That was if he didn’t already sport morning wood.

Admittedly, he’d never tire of seeing her rolling naked from his bed. His being the important part. “It’s not as early as you think, Nova.”

With another huge yawn, she stood next to the bed, interlocked her fingers and stretched her arms over her head. He couldn’t tear his eyes away but his fingers did do a little stroll down to his hard-on while he watched.

It had been a whole month of this.

For the last month she’d been sleeping by his side all night. It had taken him weeks to convince her and now that he had her there, he wasn’t letting her leave it.

Except to answer her phone.

Or piss.

Or work.

These last few weeks had been full of late nights at Hawg Wild, with getting in good with Wolf and meeting his little biker crew at various locations for discreet buys. While dealing with those assholes was getting old and tiresome, they were at least getting somewhere.

While he was weary of dealing with those Demons, at least he had this time with Nova. It was the only saving grace with this whole damn thing.

He’d done some long undercover assignments before but none this fucking boring. He might as well be out doing patrol and writing citations. But he understood a foundation with the Demons had to be laid, buys had to be documented, info had to be gleaned and all the rest of that happy task force crap.

This wasn’t a shock and awe mission, it was a slow and steady undertaking.

Gather info, gather evidence, build a solid case.

He yanked on his beard. The length was now out of control and it was looking almost as raggedy as some of the Demons. Even though it didn’t look as flea-bitten or mangy as some of those outlaws, he still hated it and so did Nova. He needed to dig out some clippers and at least give it some shape sometime soon.
