Even though we were only separated by a wall, I liked being able to see her whenever I wanted. And it came in extremely handy in moments like this.

Her lips were curved in a little smile, her green eyes staring dreamily at her computer screen. Then she blushed and shifted restlessly in her seat.

I immediately shot to my feet. Those were her tells—signals that told me she was writing a steamy scene in one of her books.

Thankfully, Skye was at preschool, and Wyatt was having a playdate with Violet and Brendan.

After flipping the screen back to a montage of family photos, I padded out of my office and turned left, taking one step before I was at her door.

Wanting to catch her off guard, I didn’t bother to knock. When I entered, she gasped and spun around in her chair. She looked even more flushed—all hot and bothered—in reality.

“Doing okay, baby?” I asked with a grin as I sauntered toward her. “Or am I just in time to help you find satisfaction from the scene in your book?”

Her eyes narrowed, but my grin widened when her breathing picked up, and her gaze briefly dropped to the bulge in my jeans.

“How do you always know when I’m writing a sex scene?” she demanded.

“A sixth sense?” I suggested, evading the truth without lying.

She pressed her lips together and shook her head. “I don’t think so. It’s happened too many times to be a coincidence.”

I closed the distance between us, bending down to cage her in her chair with my hands gripping the armrests. “Prove it,” I teased.

Suddenly, she gasped, and her eyes darted around the room. “Did you put cameras in here, Baylor?”

I tried to make my expression innocent but failed when a salacious grin spread across my face. “How else am I gonna know when my woman needs me?” Winking, I bent down until our lips were just inches apart. “Wouldn’t want you to get stuck without inspiration. Or experience.”

“Experience?” she questioned.

“That office romance you wrote last year was a bestseller,” I reminded her smugly. “That scene in chapter twenty was real fucking familiar.”

Thea blushed hard, and her green eyes turned molten with desire. “Ummm…”

“This the book about the computer nerd who falls for a chef and turns all possessive and growly?” I asked with a smirk.

“Yes,” she whispered, her body leaning in closer. Her head dropped almost all the way back so we were looking at each other face-to-face.

She yelped in surprise when I scooped her into my arms and stalked out of the office. “What are you doing?”

“Giving you somethin’ to write about, baby.”

The kitchen was all kinds of dirty by the time she was screaming my name.

A month later, I walked into the bedroom to see Thea glaring at me with her hands propped on her hips.

I swallowed my amused smile. She was fucking adorable when she was pissed. Probably because she was so tiny. “Somethin’ on your mind, baby?”

“Normally, I love that I have my very own book boyfriend and happily ever after, but this is getting out of hand,” she snapped.

I raised an eyebrow and tilted my head, studying her. “Gonna need more explanation.”

“These spontaneous sexcapades you initiate always seem to end up with me knocked up!” She threw her hands in the air and flopped down on the bed, lying on her back with her legs dangling over the side.

“You’re pregnant?” I croaked, suddenly a little choked up.

“Yes,” she grumbled. “This is the second time you’ve barged into my office and put a baby in me.”

I padded across the room and leaned down, placing an arm on both sides of her. “You’re not happy about the baby?” I asked even though that didn’t seem like my Thea.

“Of course, I’m happy, you big lug!” she gasped, clearly offended that I’d insinuated otherwise.

“Then what’s with the attitude, baby?”

“I wish we planned for me to get pregnant instead of you just stuffing me with sperm and leaving a little bun in my oven.”

Grinning, I brushed my lips over hers, then whispered, “But it’s so much fun making the dough.”

Thea giggled and slid her arms around my torso, urging me down so she could wrap me in a tight hug. “True.”

I captured her lips in a deep kiss while my hands splayed over her flat belly, then up to cup her tits.

“Mommy! Daddy! It’s wunch time!”

Groaning, I dropped my head into the crook of Thea’s neck while she giggled.

“Forgot the kids are home,” I grumbled.

Thea patted my bicep. “We can celebrate after they are in bed tonight.”

I winked and grinned wickedly. “We’ll practice making more dough.”

Thea’s eyes went wide. “Just how many buns are you intending to put in my oven?”

I shrugged. “As many as you’ll let me.”

She sighed and pushed against my chest when Skye called out again, her voice closer to our bedroom now. “Let’s talk about it next time.”
