At the age of ten, I was declared tainted by a prophet. Doomed to one day bear a mark that will connect me to a vampire.
My parents abandoned me.
Leaving me at the mercy of their church—the Order of Saint Benedict.
For nearly a decade, I was forced to live underground and subjected to countless cruelties.
But everything changes the day a priest takes pity and rescues me.
While on the run, the cursed mark appears on my skin.
And I become one of the few women in the world a vampire can turn.
One night, I wake up in the arms of a monster claiming to be my fated.
With black hair, sharp cheekbones, and lips begging to be kissed, he looks like the Devil incarnate.
And promises me an eternity full of endless bliss…
If I’m willing to be forever bound to him.
Wanted is a dark vampire romance

RAPHAEL
The Future
Alena shoves my hands off her and snaps, “You are not the answer to all my problems!”
Then she starts to angrily stomp off.
Bullshit, I think to myself as I pounce on her, not letting her get away.
Jerking her into me, my mouth drops to her ear. “Want to bet?”
I push the memory of us kissing through the bond and feel her tremble against me.
“Bet what?” she asks, her voice coming out breathless.
Fighting back the urge to exert the full power of my vampiric will, I purr into her ear, “I can fix it all. All the pain. All the misery you suffer…”
I turn her in my arms so she can see my face. She needs to know everything I can offer. Not the lies she grew up believing.
Bending her back, I lean over her. “I can make it all go away.”
Staring into her eyes, my body aches with the pent-up need to finally feel complete. “I can fill the rest of your life with endless pleasures.”
She’s so close to giving in, I can taste it. But I must tread carefully.
If I force or manipulate her into immortality, she’ll hate me for eternity.
She chokes out, “How?”
What I’m offering is tempting and she wants to believe me. Even if she doesn’t know how to trust me yet.
Too many people in her past have betrayed her.
But I am the one who will always protect her. The one willing to sacrifice everything for her.
Even my life, if it comes to it.
Dipping my head closer, I breathe the answer against her lips. “Give yourself to me fully.”
Her eyes soften, and I can’t resist the impulse to tuck her hair behind her ear.
If only she could feel how I feel. If she opened the bond completely, allowing herself to feel me, she’d know I will forever love and cherish her.
I will give her everything she’s never had.
Wishing I could shatter the damn thing myself, I say, “Break down the wall between us and you’ll never need it again.”
Her reaction is immediate and surprising. Almost as if she’s under some kind of compulsion…
Shouting in my face, she shoves hard at my chest, trying to free herself. “No!”
But I don’t let her push me away this time.
She can’t keep running from the truth.
This wall she’s put up, blocking half of our connection, needs to come down for both our sakes.
Trying to help her see reason, I say gently. “You have to, my love, if you ever want to experience true happiness.”
She shakes her head back and forth in denial. “It will kill me.”
Images of everything she’s longed to do over the past decade flash through her mind. Everything the Order denied her by keeping her trapped underground like a rat in a cage.
She longs for mortal freedom as much as I long for her.
But fate has already decided where this will end.
My determination strengthening, I know how to convince her.
Tightening my hold, I croon, “All those things you want… Everything you desire…”
Taking control of her dream, I weave together everything I glimpsed in her mind around us.
The grass she wants to run through. The flowers she’s longed to smell. The tall trees reaching for the sky.
And the soft breeze teasing at her hair.
She sways on her feet, but my hold keeps her from falling over.
“I will give them to you,” I vow.
She twists in my arms and stares at the grass swaying before her in wonder.
Turning her back around, I nudge her chin up so she can see what she’s yearned the most for.
A large, open sky splashed with red, pink, and orange stretching above us.
How did he know I wanted this? she thinks to herself.
Wanting her to understand how closely we’re already connected, I answer, “I’m inside you.”
Icy dread flows through the fragile bond on her end.
“You can read my thoughts?” she asks.
Her dread settling in my own stomach for a moment, I hesitate before admitting, “Yes.”
Her muscles tense, as if she means to run.
Crushing her against me, I remind her, “You gave me permission.”
“When?!” she gasps.
I brush my lips purposely against her ear and enjoy how even the slightest touch from me affects her. “When you begged for more pleasure.”
She jerks her head away, but I follow.
Exhaling, I caress her with my breath. “Everything you think, I hear. Everything you feel, I feel.”
Her fear of me surges through the bond, threatening to overwhelm my control.
I pull back and look at her face. “Because you’re the other half of my soul.”
Shaking her head in denial, she thinks to herself, That’s impossible. People don’t share souls.
Anger floods me, further testing the limits of my patience.
That she would still fight against what’s between us after everything I’ve shown her pushes me to the very edge.
Reflecting my emotions, the sky begins to darken and fills with clouds.
“I assure you, it’s very possible,” I growl.
