But now, they'll have to figure it out without me.

There's no other choice.

To save their lives, I’ll do what I must.

Chapter Two

Abigail

As they turn to leave, panic surges through me. I can’t let them leave without letting them know…I can’t send them away until I tell them…they’re worth it.

"Wait!" I cry.

Damrion and Adriel pause, turning back to me. The room suddenly feels too small, too warm. I struggle to breathe as grief threatens to overwhelm me.

"Ást-meer?" Damrion's voice is soft, concerned.

I can't stop myself. I launch myself at them, flinging my arms around them both, holding them as tightly as I can.

For one heartbeat, two, they stiffen in surprise. Then, slowly, they return my embrace, their strong arms encircling me, Adriel's face buried in my hair, Damrion's cheek resting against my temple.

I breathe them in, memorizing the scent of leather and pine, the steady thrum of their heartbeats against my own. This stolen moment is all we have, and I know it.

"Kiss me,” I beg them. “For one moment, put everything aside and just kiss me like you did that night in Eitr.”

“Abigail...” Adriel starts.

“No,” I sob. “Everything is always a fight. I’m tired of it being a fight, Adriel. I just want to know what it’s like to belong to the two Fae who own my soul. Just once. I need you. Both of you.”

“You need us?” Damrion’s golden eyes meet mine, his gaze so soft.

“I always need you,” I whisper.

Adriel exhales a ragged breath, glancing at Damrion, and I know I have them. They’re going to give me this—one last kiss to keep me breathing no matter what happens next.

Damrion’s hand curves around the back of my head, his fingers delving into my hair. There's no hesitation as he dips his head.

“Abigail,” he breathes. His tongue teases my lower lip before diving in to taste and explore. His lips are fire and need, his kiss as much a branding as it is a balm, searing and soothing me all at once.

Adriel presses closer, holding me as Damrion’s mouth moves against mine. I melt into him, one arm wrapped up around his neck to anchor him to me.

Abruptly, Damrion pulls back, his gaze lingering on my lips as if he’s trying to commit them to memory. He turns my face gently toward Adriel, offering my mouth up to him.

“Your turn,” he murmurs, unable to hide the desire in his eyes at the thought of Adriel kissing me.

Adriel’s pale hand cups my cheek, his thumb brushing away my tears. He looks at me, his one black eye intense and unreadable.

“Abigail, ljúfr.”

Then he leans in to claim my mouth. His kiss is different—demanding and fierce—a primal statement of possession that sends shockwaves through me. The taste of him is intoxicating—whiskey and smoke and Adriel.

I moan as they press against me, sandwiching me between their hard bodies—Adriel’s predatory strength at my back and Damrion’s commanding power at my front.

I feel their erections against me—proof of their desire, their need. Adriel kisses me again before turning my face back to Damrion, who takes the invitation with a groan of surrender.

Their kisses grow more frantic, more urgent, as if they're trying to pour a lifetime of love into this one stolen moment—as if they feel the same piercing ache of grief I do. Maybe they do. Perhaps it leaks out around the edges of the bond, piercing their souls even though I try to contain it.

Damrion's tongue delves deep, tangling with mine in a way that leaves me breathless and aching. Behind me, Adriel's lips blaze a fiery trail down my throat, nipping with his teeth and then soothing with his tongue.

His hands skim my body, his touch growing bolder, more possessive with each passing second.

“Please,” I gasp into Damrion’s mouth, needing more. Needing everything.

Their response is immediate. Damrion’s rough hand closes over my breast. Adriel’s calloused fingers slip beneath the hem of my nightgown, slowly dragging the thin fabric up my thighs.

I moan into Damrion's mouth as Adriel's hand grazes the sensitive skin of my inner thigh. My body is on fire, every nerve ending sparking to life under their touch. I'm lost to the heat of their mouths, the press of their hard bodies against mine.

Damrion swallows my cry as Adriel's fingers ghost over my aching sex, just barely grazing my swollen folds. I arch into his touch, silently begging for more.

He obliges, stroking me through the damp lace, teasing me with fleeting caresses that leave me sobbing into Damrion’s mouth.

Damrion is no passive witness to Adriel’s wicked torment. He rolls my nipple between his fingers, sending jolts straight to my clit.

I whimper, my hips rocking shamelessly, chasing the pleasure flowing through my veins.

“I love that sound, ást-meer.” Damrion's hands join Adriel's beneath my gown, his fingers trailing up my thigh, circling higher and higher.
