“Well if you won’t accept credit, how can we pay for repairs?” Hold asked. “Maybe you’d like us to work to pay off the debt?” he offered. “My brother and I are strong. And I’m also a healer—if you have anyone who is sick and needs to be tended—”

“We have our own healers,” the priestess interrupted. “And my horn has healing powers, of course.” She touched the tiny white spiral horn in the center of her forehead lightly. “Your services will not be required. But I am afraid we cannot fix your ship—our facilities are only for the use of those who join us and become members of the Sisterhood of Peace.”

“What? That’s fucking ridiculous!” Fierce growled.

“We really just need to get home to the Kindred Mothership,” Hold said, shooting his brother a warning glance. “If you can’t fix our ship, maybe you can allow us to use your long-distance communicator? I mean, if you have one?” he added hopefully.

La’ver’na shook her head.

“I fear we possess no such capabilities. Our communications array does not extend past our own planet. We have no need to speak to anyone outside our own community.”

“Then what in the Seven Hells are we supposed to do?” Fierce demanded. “We’re stranded here!”

“I fear I cannot help you.” The priestess shrugged, clearly unconcerned. “Come, my steeds—we must away,” she remarked and reached out to tap her two goat men on the tops of their heads.

Celia couldn’t believe the unicorn woman was just going to leave them stranded—they needed to get home! She’d been standing silently all this time, but now she felt she had to speak up.

“Wait!” she exclaimed, and pushed her way out from between Fierce and Hold. “Wait, please!”

The priestess tapped her men on the tops of their horned heads again and they swung back around so that she was facing them.

“Yes?” she said, lifting an eyebrow at Celia. “What is it you wish, little goddess?”

“Oh, uh…” Celia cleared her throat. “I wanted to ask, what if we joined you? I mean, what if we became members of the Sisterhood of Peace? Would you fix our ship then?”

“Of course we would.” The Priestess gave her a radiant smile. “We would fix your ship so that you could spread the light of the Goddess of the Shining Heart to all the universe!”

“Then we’d like to join,” Celia said quickly. “As long as we’re allowed to leave as soon as our ship is repaired so we can, uh, spread the Goddess’s light.”

La’ver’na gave them all a critical look.

“Well, you come in the correct numbers, at least—a goddess must have at least two worshippers—though of course, more is better.”

“Um…worshippers?” Celia asked, looking up to catch Hold and Fierce’s eyes. Hold looked intrigued and Fierce was frowning, but neither of them had said anything against the plan of joining the religious order yet.

“Why yes, little goddess.” La’ver’na smiled benevolently. “I myself have twelve males who worship me. These two steeds, C’lavine and L’orngin are only two of them. Tell me…” She leaned forward and looked at Celia intently. “Do these males give you pleasure? Sexual pleasure?”

“Well, uh…yes. Yes, they do,” Celia admitted. She could feel her cheeks getting hot as she remembered the things she and Hold and Fierce had done together the night before.

“I see.” The priestess nodded and turned her attention to Hold and Fierce. “And you two—do you worship your goddess often and well?”

“Worship her in what way?” Hold asked carefully.

“With your bodies, of course—with your fingers and your tongues and your cocks! What other way is there to worship a goddess?” La’ver’na demanded.

“They do—they do all of that,” Celia lied recklessly, before either of the big warriors could answer. “They keep me very happy and they’re uh, extremely skilled. That’s why I only need two of them—not twelve,” she added, improvising some.

“I see…I see…” The unicorn priestess nodded thoughtfully, her tiny spiral horn winking like a star on her forehead. “Very well,” she said at last. “We shall accept you for a trial period, during which time we will fix your ship. If at the end of the trial when your ship is fixed, you wish to join the Sisterhood of Peace, we will make you full members and you can go back to your home world and spread the light of the Goddess to all who will listen.”

“That sounds wonderful!” Celia said gratefully. She clasped her hands together at her heart. “I promise, we’ll do our very best to learn your ways so we can spread the Goddess’s light.”

“In that case, you’d best get started. As these two are your only worshippers, they must also be your steeds…er, what is your name, little goddess? I fear I did not catch it earlier,” La’ver’na said.

“I’m Celia and this is Hold and this is Fierce,” Celia said, making introductions for all of them.
