He actually can surpass the man above him.
And if my hacker cup didn’t already runneth over, I’d at least consider putting his skills to better use instead of dictating an immediate death sentence.
“That’s why I haven’t been promoted I assume.” The arrogant attitude I’m expecting to see finally shows itself. “Unless that’s why you wanted to see me? To give me his job.”
“His job is his.” Relocating myself around the desk and onto the edge of it closer to him, I cross one leg over the other and dramatically say, “And your job will be refilled by the end of the week.”
“Wh-”
“You know I’m very good at my job, too, Mr. Jung, yet I still – on the occasion – am actually amazed at the lengths men will go to for pussy.”
His jaw plummets to his dress pants covered lap. “Excuse me?”
“Oh, I’m sorry does that word make you feel uncomfortable?” A mocking head tilt causes my hair to dangle to one side. “Would it make what you’ve done more romantic and less criminal if I used the word love instead?”
Rather than respond to the accusation, he remains completely paralyzed in place.
“We both know that I know what you’ve done. In fact, we both know that you knew I knew the second you opened that email, which is why you came in here immediately trying to defend and deflect. We also both know that you hid your tracks impressively well. Having your own best friend unknowingly assist you in the process by borrowing his personal laptop, hiding the missing lists in encrypted files on his device, rerouting things through accounts connected to him, and using proxy servers from a contact he gave you after you fed him a sob story about getting too deep in online gambling debt all the while fucking his wife behind his back for the past six months was brilliant.” He’s offered a small shoulder shrug. “Not the best I’ve ever seen but far from the sloppiest.” Gabe prepares to get up from his seat in a fit of panic when the edge of my high heel lands against his balls. “Ah-ah, I have a question I need an answer to.”
“I didn’t-”
The pointed front tip of my shoe is harshly crammed into the underside of his chin. “You weren’t invited here to tell me lies I won’t believe, Mr. Jung. You were invited here to give me an answer to my question.” Jamming it deeper is done to add physical weight to the severity of the situation. Reiterate my point. My power. “Also, please note that it was absolutely an invitation because if I didn’t want my question answered I would have simply had my team put a bag over your head after Priyanka gave you that blowjob last night during The Mandalorian and transport you to your final destination, which isn’t my beautiful office.”
“Wait, so…you’re not gonna kill me?” Gabe struggles to ask due to my shoe pressing into his esophagus.
“That depends on your answer.” I lean back onto my palms, offer him a wicked grin, and purposely leave out that his death is certain, just not who will have the privilege of delivering his demise. “However, if you so much as look at me in a way that inconveniences me, I’ll let Evans shoot you where you sit, which I know would make his day.” Playfully wiggling my eyebrows causes the employee squirm. “He’s got an itch that desperately needs scratching.”
The traitor’s jaw begins to tremble against my footwear, indicating he finally has an inkling of the severity he’s gotten himself into.
“Now, back to my question.” Seeing tears beginning in the corner of his eye leads to me relocating the front of my shoe to stop it. “Let me help with that.” Applying agonizing pressure to the delicate space pulls a gut-wrenching shriek from his chest that’s swiftly muted by Evans placing him in a chokehold from the back, crushing the perpetrator’s windpipe with his large forearm. “I’ve had enough with men crying in my presence.” Additional pushing is attached to an exasperated sigh. “Seriously. My son is plenty.”
His face thrashes against my foot while his fists pound away at my guard’s unwavering grip.
“So, the whole fucking your best friend over to be with his woman bullshit is nothing new. Nothing original. Has happened. Will happen again. It’s the basic principle in the jungle, right? You want what the alpha has, prove you’re a better alpha, take the alpha’s shit, including his piece of ass. I get it, although I’m inclined to point out that no part of me thinks of Messer – or you for that matter – as an alpha male. The man stuffed a sock down his pants to give himself a noticeable ‘bulge’ in his engagement photos.” Gasping sounds reverberate around my office prompting me to continue. “I also get why you stole the framed Maya Angelou poem we kept in the lobby. It’s like penguins who bring their partner’s rocks. It’s a romantic gesture that doubles as a solidification of your relationship. In this case, you stealing this prized possession that belonged to my late mother,” another hard push is presented, burying my shoe deeper into his eye cavity, “to pass it off as your own ‘expensive token’, was done so to impress Priya. And it did because she, herself, is a huge fan of the author as well.”
