I wrap my arms around his neck and lean over to place my lips against his ear. “Then knock me up so we can get to it.”

“You don’t have to ask me twice.” He rushes up the stairs with our family and friends catcalling behind us.

TONY

Five Years Later

I’m looking around Scared Shotless, and today it feels more like a Technicolor pumpkin patch than the elegant, moody den it usually is.

Kat and Cass transformed it into a Halloween wonderland for Lilith’s birthday. The cobwebbed chandeliers have light-up ghosts hanging from them, and the tables are laden with candy corn, caramel apples and all the spooky décor our four-year-old could dream of.

Spider-shaped balloons dangle from the ceiling, casting miniature shadows that dance across the walls, and every available surface is dotted with smiling jack-o'-lanterns. It’s like Halloween exploded inside, and I have to admit, it’s kinda awesome.

Lilith, my four-year-old whirlwind of energy and enthusiasm, is bouncing around, her tiny witch hat slightly askew atop her dark curls. She's been buzzing with excitement for weeks about her "spooky birthday," and honestly, watching her light up like this is the best part of my day. She zips past me, chasing a few of her preschool friends, all dressed up and equally enthusiastic.

“Daddy!” she calls, racing over and clutching my leg, breathless and giggling. “Did you see the ghosts?”

“I did, bug,” I reply, scooping her up and making her giggle more as I spin her around. “But they’re not as cute as you.”

She squeals in delight, clapping her tiny hands before pointing over my shoulder. “And Mommy made the cupcakes look like little mummies!”

Across the room, Kat is deep in conversation with one of the other mothers while meticulously arranging snacks that look like little grim reapers and vampire bats.

I love how much she gets into these things, her creativity shining through as she helps orchestrate a day our daughter will remember. She looks over, catching my eye with a knowing smile, and waves me over to join.

I set Lilith down gently, and she darts off to join the other kids bobbing for apples. I make my way over to Kat, who hands me a perfectly iced mummy cupcake, the vanilla frosting thick and enticing.

“These look incredible,” I say, taking a bite and savoring the gooey sweetness. “Pretty sure you’ve outdone yourself again.”

She gives a modest shrug but her eyes twinkle with pride. “I couldn’t let Lilith down. Especially after my dipshit brothers decided to buy her a pony for her birthday.”

“I could kick their asses for pulling that one,” I grumble halfheartedly. I’ve already planned out my revenge. It will happen when they least expect it.

“Seems like just yesterday she was learning to crawl.” Kat sighs, and I can see the baby-longing emotion flash across her face. After the party, I’m planning to hint at adding to our family. “And now she’s the reigning princess of all things Halloween.”

I wrap an arm around her waist, pulling her close as we watch the chaos unfold with tiny werewolves and witches scurrying about, their infectious laughter filling the room. Walter is sitting on his feline throne next to the present table, surveying his domain and keeping an eye on his favorite human, our daughter.

“Do you think Lilith needs a little brother or sister to keep her from getting too spoiled?” she suggests before I’m able to.

“I don’t think she could possibly be too spoiled,” I respond, chuckling softly, “but I’d love to have another little one running around wreaking havoc on Walter.”

She leans in, pressing a gentle kiss to my cheek before whispering, “I like the way you think, Mr. Conti. We’ll work on it after the party.”

“You’re on, Mrs. Conti.” I pull her close for a quick kiss and my cock grows hard. I’m suddenly glad I wore thick jeans to this party. “Fuck. It’s going to be a long day.”

Lucky for me, we’re too busy keeping thirty kids and one spoiled feline busy for me to worry about my disgruntled cock.

As the kids gather in a circle for story time while Cass weaves tales of friendly ghosts and mystical creatures that captivate their little imaginations, Lilith sits front and center like the little princess of Halloween she is.

Later, when the sugar highs have worn off, we lead all the kids outside to the courtyard where a setup of colorful themed activities awaits, complete with a bouncy castle shaped like a haunted house and more jack-o'-lanterns glowing in the early dusk.

Elliot, half of the dastardly duo and the perpetual thorn in my side, walks up to me with a self-satisfied grin etched on his face. “The party isn’t bad. It’s not as great as a real live pony, but it’s close.”

Resisting the urge to roll my eyes, I reply, “Suck my dick.”

Elliot’s grin doesn’t waver one bit, clearly immune to my sarcasm and appreciating every ounce of irritation he’s causing. “I’ll pass, but thanks for the offer.”
