“They’re getting massages,” I inform them.
“What happens at a spa?” Matteo kicks his feet up on the ottoman, turning the game on. I think they’re planning on sticking around.
I have grown closer to both Matteo and Nikolai over the years. In some areas, Angel has softened me. She wanted a family, and I wanted to give her everything she could ever dream of. With time and being around everyone, some of those walls I’d put up years ago started to come down. A different kind of trust began to grow. Not all families are shit. Especially when you all want the same thing. To protect your family.
Even right now, all the kids are down in the playroom. They see each other as cousins. The reality is that Riley and Mona are the only people who have blood that truly connects them, but to all of us, that shit doesn’t matter.
Angel and I have twin boys, and they can be a handful. When we get all the kids together, they can at least wear each other out. Never in all my life did I see this future when I took a job for Matteo all those years ago.
"You don't care that someone is going to rub all over your women?" I grit out. I’d only learned about the massages a few minutes ago when I got the list of services they were getting.
Why does she need someone else to rub all over her? I gave her massages daily when she was pregnant with our boys. I have always been proficient with my hands. I could rub her for hours. I still do.
“It’s an all-female staff.” Matteo drops his feet, sitting up. A pissed-off expression takes over Nikolai's face. Even Marshmallow lifts his head from where he was snoozing on one of his many cat houses, in solidarity with us.
“How do you know about them getting massages? Riley didn’t say shit about that.”
“I make it my job to know shit.”
I’m already texting Nina to let her know I’ll be leaving. She has been with us since before we even had the boys. Nina was a nurse before she came to work for us full-time. When Angel was placed on bedrest at the end of her pregnancy, I wanted someone to be present at all times. The older woman has been a saint. Both the boys and Angel love her.
“You all can stay here if you want.” I’m already heading for the door.
“Fuck.”
“Well, shit” I hear Matteo and Nikolai say from behind me before they are both following after me. We’re all quiet on the ride over to the luxury spa. Nobody stops us when we arrive.
“What room is Angel in?” I ask one of the staff members.
“Two doors on the left.” The woman points down the hallway. I ignore everyone else, heading to find my wife. If she wants a massage, I am more than willing to give it to her. Then she can go back to her girls’ weekend. Since the entire place is ours, I'll grab one of the rooms and stay nearby in case she needs another one. This all sounds logical to me. There is no need for anyone else when she has me.
When I open the door, I see my Angel. She’s laid out on a table facing up, a sheet draped over her body, with a mask over her eyes. Is she fucking naked under there? Irrational anger fills me. Not at her. Never my Angel, only the thought of someone else having gotten to see her and touch her this way.
My angel is the only thing in my life that will always be mine. I won’t share this part of her. Never.
I remove the tie from the robe on a hook before going to my wife. When I grab her hands, she doesn’t stop me. I pull them up over her head and begin to tie them together.
“What are you doing?” She finally speaks. I don’t respond. I drop down and secure the binding to the table's legs. It's loose enough; she can move her arms a little, but not much. “Hey.” Angel tugs at them. I rip the sheet off her body, revealing every naked inch of her.
