“What’s happening?” Banner asks, coming up beside Lotus, already dressed in her bikini and a sheer wrap. “Are we still doing jet skis?”
“Yeah.” Lotus grins up at me, relishing every second of this encounter. “But I got distracted by Naz being in Takira’s room.”
“Awwww.” Banner presses her hands over her heart. “Are you guys fucking? That is so dear. I know I had a lot of questions, but having dinner with her last night, she’s a delight.”
Slim arms wrap around my waist from behind, and Takira pokes her head around me at the door. I glance over my shoulder to see she’s wearing a floor-length silk robe now.
“Did someone say jet skis?” Takira asks, excitement obvious in her voice.
“Yes!” Lotus claps three times. “You want to?”
“Of course.” Takira steps out into the hall, leaving me still stranded and undressed with my head at the door. “I’m an island girl. I was practically born on a jet ski.”
“I’ve never done it,” Banner chimes in. “Sounds like fun.”
“Never done what?” Jared asks, walking up the hall.
“Is this a yacht convention?” I mutter.
“Never jet skied,” Banner replies, tucking into his side under his arm and tipping her face up for a kiss.
“Not sure you should.” Jared frowns. “Did the doctor clear that?”
“I think riding you is more rigorous than riding a jet ski,” Banner parries.
A wicked grin spreads over Jared’s face. “Then you should be fine.”
He flicks a glance at Takira and then at me.
“Speaking of last night’s sex,” Jared drawls. “Did I interrupt a walk of shame?”
“Could y’all just go?” I nearly shout. “Yes to jet skis. Now leave.”
“All right, all right,” Lotus mumbles. “We’re just having fun.”
“So yes to jet skis?” Kenan asks, walking up the hall. “Breakfast is ready, by the way.”
His gaze drifts over the small group clustered outside the cabin door and then to me still tucked behind it.
“Damn, y’all.” Kenan tsks, continuing past them. “Give them some privacy.”
“Thank you,” I say. “I knew I could count on you at least.”
“How does it feel being the mature one in the group, Kenan?” Lotus yells, laughing at his back. “That’s why you turning forty!”
He doesn’t break stride but raises his middle finger in the air, a deep chuckle accompanying him down the hall.
“I guess we should eat,” Jared says, turning to leave. “See you at breakfast. Come on, Ban.”
She takes Jared’s hand and starts down the hall but sends me a wink over her shoulder.
“Okay, so breakfast up on deck and jet skis in an hour,” Lotus says. “Sound good?”
“Sounds great,” Takira says. “And thank you again for including me. This is such a great trip, and everyone’s so nice.”
“I’m glad you’re here,” Lotus says. “And I really would like to pick your brain about the Carnival campaign for next summer.”
“Would love that.”
“Okay, well, I should let you go before Naz’s head explodes,” Lotus says wryly. “See you up top.”
Takira comes back into the room, shutting the door behind her. Her robe gapes open enough for me to see the top curves of her breasts, and my mouth waters because I haven’t tasted them yet. I’m yanked from my own salacious thoughts by Takira’s hand on my dick through my briefs.
“Is she right?” Takira asks, her touch firm, her eyes fixed on mine. “Is your head about to explode?”
I grip her throat, lifting her chin with my thumb. “If you keep pulling on it like that, hell yeah.”
She laughs, leaning into me, her naked breasts meeting my bare chest. I slide one hand under her robe, trailing over her plump ass.
A loud pounding on the door breaks the spell our bodies are weaving over us.
“Come to breakfast, lovebirds!” August yells through the door. “You can do that stuff later. Apparently, we’re going jet skiing.”
An exasperated sigh flows out of me, but Takira steps away, chuckling and pulling her robe tightly around her as she walks back to the bathroom.
“Later,” she says over one silk-covered shoulder. “I promise.”
Chapter Thirteen
Takira
It’s actually been a long time since I was on a jet ski, so today was amazing. Though my family left Trinidad shortly after I was born and moved to Houston, I still consider the island my home. We visit family there often, and every time I chase the waves, extend my arms to the sky, and surrender to the wind. It never feels like a visit, but like a reunion with the elements that formed me.
Today it’s a Mediterranean breeze wafting over my face, not a Caribbean sigh. And the blue sky and fluffy clouds above are hung over Capri, not my beloved Tobago, but I still felt that invigoration that only sand and sea ever stir in me. The sea spray on my face and water sloshing onto my legs. Naz laughing at my back, his sinewed arms cradling me while we rode the waves together. Having him warm and hard behind me was my favorite part of the day.
