Had I assumed too much?
After quickly rinsing her hands, she turned to face me, tears shimmering in her pretty eyes. “You got my name?” she choked out. “You know that’s there forever, right?”
I nodded, reaching up to trail my fingers down her cheek, the anxiety I’d been feeling easing. She was emotional—a good emotional. So, I knew I’d made the right decision tattooing her name there. “You’re my old lady. That’s a goddamn marriage vow in our world, baby girl,” I reminded her. In fact, most MC members didn’t get married. Not because they were afraid of commitment, but because when a man claimed a woman, that shit was forever. Didn’t matter how much you split up, you always floated right back to each other.
Her lips trembled, and she leaned up, pressing her lips to mine. I groaned and settled her naked body on the counter, my hands sliding along the dip in her waist. She moaned into the kiss and parted her thighs wider, allowing me to step between them. My cock strained in my jeans.
“I need to put this ointment on your back,” I grumbled against her lips. But I still didn’t stop kissing her. The woman was fucking addicting. I couldn’t get enough of her.
“Don’t care,” she panted. “After.”
With that, she unbuckled my belt and shoved my jeans and boxers down to the floor. I wrapped my hand around her throat and sank deep into her pussy, moaning her name as I did so.
Heaven. Being inside her body felt like fucking paradise.
She moaned my name, her back arching. Her pussy was already fluttering around me after only a few strokes. “Sam—” she whimpered, a strangled gasp cutting off the rest of her words.
I covered her lips with mine as she came. “I’ve got you,” I rasped.
Her tongue invaded my mouth, and she hooked her ankles behind my back, yanking me deeper inside of her.
Fuck me.

Sam
Peace and silence were our companions for the next couple of weeks. Nothing was happening on the outside, and the Angels of Hell were laying low. But I had a feeling in the pit of my gut that the silence wasn’t a good thing. And I never had Reina out of my sight because of it.
River had made it clear to the Angels of Hell MC that if they continued this bullshit, none of them would survive it. They may have been larger than the Fathers of Mayhem in numbers, but we had brains behind our organization. River was ruthless, especially when it came to his family. And I was even worse. The two of us together were fucking deadly.
This shit had started because some dumb fuck thought he was entitled to Axel. And the Angels of Hell would see their downfall because of their shit-ass charter’s decision. That president had been a weak link, one the Angels of Hell hadn’t been able to pick out, and ultimately, even dead, that weak link would ruin them.
There was no vengeance to be had for a man that had a personal agenda. Being a club member meant you protected family. You didn’t make moves without the backing of your entire club. And waging war against another MC was something that should have been cleared at the mother charter table before ever happening.
Reina suddenly groaned and rolled onto her side, curling into a ball. She’d been asleep when I’d left to grab a cup of coffee and a sandwich. I’d expected her to still be sleeping when I got back in. So, I was definitely shocked to see her awake.
I quickly walked further into the room, my eyes intent on her curled-up figure. A deep frown settling across my face, I set my cup of coffee on the dresser.
“You alright?” I asked her, crouching in front of her beside the bed.
She shook her head and slowly opened her eyes. Pain was etched across her features. “I’m on my period,” she muttered.
I ran my hand over her hair, deeply concerned for her. I didn’t like her being in pain, and I really fucking hated when I couldn’t damn help her. “Are they normally painful?” I asked, brushing my fingers down her soft cheek.
She shrugged. “Sometimes. I don’t know. They’re irregular, so it’s hard to judge one from the other properly.” Her voice was a bit snappy, but I let it slide. I had to image that period cramps were pretty fucking hard to deal with. I really felt for the women who had to go through this shit every month.
I needed to get her to a doctor, but with the entire club still being on lockdown and the Angels of Hell being completely silent, I didn’t think it was safe enough to take her yet. And I sure as fuck wouldn’t risk it.
“Let me get you some pain medicine, alright?” She nodded. I pressed a quick kiss to her lips and then got up, walking back out of the room. Adelaide was wiping down the bar, and Axel and Jaxon were playing on the floor. “Where’s the baby?” I asked her.
