The door behind him opened without ceremony, and he clenched his teeth, stuffing the cigarette into his mouth to focus on the flavor of the smoke.

“Your pizza,” Neil said and placed a large plate next to Leo’s ass. The food was burnt, and the smell of char already reached Leo’s throat.

“Jesus fucking Christ!” Leo jumped off the wall. Could anything work out for him today? That black pepperoni seemed to be a fitting metaphor for his life. Just like the pizza had been in the oven too long, he’d overstayed his time at Zolt’s and allowed way too much heat within a short time.

“How about you stay out here, and I’ll entertain him once the other guys are gone?” Neil asked.

Leo’s gaze snapped up to the bastard’s face, and bile rose in his throat, burning and making his mouth taste bitter. He’d rip his claws into anyone who as much as considered making a move on Zolt. “Are you fucking kidding me?”

Neil rolled his eyes, staring back at him with a stiffness to his lips. “I know exactly what’s happening here. He’s gotten to you, and you’ve done something, and now you’re wondering if that makes you gay. You have no idea how many times I’ve seen this, so do yourself a favor and take a hike.”

Leo hesitated longer than he would have wished. “You know nothing about me.”

Neil swallowed, still as he regarded Leo in the faint light of the lamp over their heads. “If you’re one of those guys who actually feel like there might be something more between you and him, better give up already. Zolt has a thing for breaking in straight boys, and that’s about it. Have you ever looked into that green notebook of his? The things he writes there say it all. You, and all the other guys he fucks are disposable. But I’m his friend. I’ll always be the one to stay,” he said through his teeth, and some spit landed on Leo’s cheek.

Enough was enough.

Leo grabbed the front of Neil’s shirt and pushed him back so hard the fucker almost fell over. “He doesn’t even like you, Neil. Wake the fuck up!” And yet the needle Neil had planted under Leo’s nail wouldn’t stop causing him pain. What fucking green notebook?

Neil snarled. “Oh, he likes me. He likes to come straight down my throat. Bet you can’t do that, straight boy,” he said and shoved Leo back.

The vision presented to Leo was so visceral his brain exploded with rage. He didn’t even try to stop it anymore. His heart hurt as if it had been pecked on by vultures. He had to fight the tears welling up in his eyes, because he wouldn’t give Neil the satisfaction of seeing him cry.

He took a swing and punched Neil in the face so hard it creaked, but he wasn’t done and followed the hit with a knee to the cunt’s stomach. “Wanna say that again?” he yelled, shaking the fucker as if he intended to turn him into a bloody protein shake.

When Neil gasped, the red spit that colored his teeth sprayed Leo’s face, but he grabbed Leo’s wrists and screamed, “Help! Zolt!”

Leo grappled with him, his vision blurred with fury. Blood thudded in his ears so loudly he barely heard the onslaught of stomping behind him. He managed to free one hand from the desperate fingers and was about to punch Neil again when a strong arm pulled his hand back while another person held on to his waist.

“We’re not done here!” he yelled so harshly his throat ached as if he’d vomited the entire contents of his stomach.

“Leo, what the fuck?” Zolt asked, pushing himself between Leo and Neil while Anders and Sidell joined forces to restrain Leo. He could have turned them into bloody pulp too. He could have freed himself, but what was the point, when Zolt went straight for Neil and helped him up.

Leo was heaving with jealousy mixing with endless wrath. The thought that Zolt had been also sleeping with Neil all this time was an open wound, and he felt like a wild animal trapped in a cage, with all its limbs broken.

“He fucking started it!” Leo yelled, but didn’t try to fight the two men.

“I’ll be suing the fuck out of you!” Neil screamed back, holding on to his jaw, but despite the threat, Leo enjoyed seeing blood on the handsome lips and chin, and the flash of panic hiding beyond the steely gaze was sweet as chocolate-covered marshmallows.

Zolt groaned and shook Neil despite having just come to his aid. “For what? You two had a difference in opinion. Happens.”

Neil stilled, his gaze trailing up Zolt’s chest, all the way to his face. “He attacked me. Unprovoked.”

“Do you really want to have a motorcycle club breathing down your neck? I’d think this through carefully if I were you,” Zolt said in a tight voice, and let go of Neil as if he was disgusted with the stickiness of blood.
