Zolt stopped, holding Leo in the threshold as their eyes met. He’d never known anyone so warm, so open and honest about his feelings. And maybe Zolt was not worthy of such dedication, but he wanted it too much to resist. With Leo, every moment was comfortable and sweet, just like being spooned from behind, and he leaned in for a kiss that sent his head into a spin. “You just don’t want to lose me. So selfish.”

Leo grinned. “That’s me. Can’t give up the best fuck of my life.”

“Oh, so that’s all I am to you?” Zolt entered the room, but underneath the smile, he was still wary, still mindful of Leo’s immediate reaction. He was out of his depth and hated not having an escape route.

Leo rubbed Zolt’s sides, but then pulled away to grab a bottle of whisky off the shelf. “Guess you have a magical dick.” Leo wiggled his eyebrows at Zolt and swapped his biker cut for the varsity jacket.

Zolt smirked and shook his head, amused despite the latent worries tumbling at the back of his head. He needed to get used to the idea of his life changing. Maybe he wasn’t ready yet, but Leo would surely help him through the difficult time. “Guess I do, huh.”

“Seriously though, I need a drink after all that. I’m stressed out of my fucking mind.” Leo opened the window and patted a ledge outside as he sipped from the bottle.

Zolt took his time watching the man to whom he entrusted his future. Hope wasn’t in his nature, so maybe this was all a moment of madness he would regret, but whenever Leo smiled at him, worries dispersed from his heart as if they were only fog clouding the truth that he was in safe hands.

Handsome, playful, and always there for him, Leo made Zolt break all his self-imposed rules. But that was all right. He’d be an idiot not to change his plans for a guy like Leo. He saw it perfectly clear now. Unless he fucked something up, Leo would be by his side for a long time, because he was loyal like that. And each night, he’d spoon Zolt to sleep.

“It’s pretty overwhelming,” Zolt admitted, leaning against the windowsill. Someone switched on loud music below, and its thud made Zolt flinch, as if the rhythm was bullets sent his way by Leo’s angry family members.

Leo passed him the bottle, resting his elbows on the ledge to peek outside. “Come here. We need to make a plan.”

Zolt stared at the amber liquid before taking several sips that burned his throat. Damn, it felt good. “If I became a prospect, what about my shop?”

“Prospects have jobs. If you want to keep the shop, Dad would probably see that as an advantage. Jeff was expected to be here all the time, clean, do chores and all that, but he was still a kid.”

Zolt chewed on his lip. He did money laundering on the side, but while he suspected the club would require him to do the work for free, it would likely come at the price of greater freedom. And he liked his space. He liked—

Zolt looked up and passed Leo the bottle. “Where would you live if I stayed there?”

“Well… I’m almost thirty. I don’t wanna stay here forever like Mike, no matter how much I like my bachelor pad. I’ve learned to love the privacy your home gave us.” And in a gesture of adoration, he held Zolt’s hand up to his lips and kissed his knuckles.

Zolt’s mouth stretched into a smile before he could have realized this was exactly the answer he wanted to hear. Joy was a golden heat in his heart, and he pulled Leo close, wrapping him with both arms as they watched Mike swipe a girl into his arms below. “Just you and me. Sounds nice.”

“I’ll probably be back and forth because of the work at the garage, but Jeff wanted to train up, so I should be able to split my work between that and helping you at the shop. It’s… it’s gonna be great. I love you so much.”

Zolt struggled to believe such declarations, but they sounded so real coming from Leo’s mouth that maybe, just maybe he was lovable after all. “Can I still invite Sidell and Anders for poker nights, roommate?”

Leo smirked. “I like that you left out Neil. Sneaky. If I never see his face again, it will be too soon.”

Zolt snorted and nudged Leo with his arm. “Can’t invite someone who wants to steal your man can we?” He hesitated, but when Leo didn’t react with anger, he rested his head on his lover’s steady shoulder. He couldn’t believe he was inviting another person to move in with him on a permanent basis. Maybe he was getting old. But maybe something else happened. Maybe he was simply high on—
