Mason hiccupped, and all eyes turned to him. “I’m not much of a whiskey sinker.” He shook his head. “Um, drinker.”
Brody leaned over to Gannon and loudly whispered, “Palmer is going to kick your ass.”
“Gentlemen?” Kris said from the entranceway of the living room. “It’s time.”
Mason and I turned and both bumped into one another, but it was only because my foot got hung up on his.
From behind me, I heard Gannon mumble, “Shit. We got them drunk.”
I laughed when I saw the horrified expression on Kris’s face.
Harlee
Two brides.
Two grooms.
Two sisters who cried the entire ceremony while one of them kept sneaking bites of what looked like a cheese stick.
Two brothers-in-law who nearly got the two grooms hammered before the wedding.
Two sets of parents; both mothers crying happy tears while the dads cried out in unison, “Home run,” during the wedding vows. Turns out Keegan hadn’t stowed away his phone as promised.
And one stepson who asked at least six times during the nuptials if we were done yet.
All in all, it was the most beautiful wedding ceremony I’d ever seen. I might be biased, though.
Kris had taken care of nearly everything for us, from arranging the photographer to making the food for the dinner after the ceremony. We took pictures, changed, and joined our family and friends for the reception dinner that would put all dinners to shame. Kris had a large tent erected right next to where we’d gotten married. She’d even made sure there were heaters for when the sun set and the temperatures dropped.
My wedding dress was a simple white dress with lace. Palmer’s was almost like mine, but it flared a little more at the bottom. We had both changed into more of a cocktail-type white dress for the dinner and the reception.
After walking around and trying to at least say hello to all those who’d attended, it was time to eat. In all, there were maybe sixty people present for the wedding and the dinner afterwards.
“Oh, Kris! It looks even more beautiful with all the candlelight,” I gasped as I looked at the place settings on the table. Everything was white with a beachy theme. Even the candles and most of the flowers were white. A dash of blue was thrown in here and there among the flowers and with the light blue napkins.
The name cards had starfish tied to them with the same light-blue ribbon, something Palmer and I had done earlier that morning. Resting on each white plate was the menu. We had gone with more of a traditional seaside meal.

“Everything is ready to serve,” Kris said with a huge smile. I could totally tell she was in her element.
Glancing over at Brax, I nodded. He held up his glass and tapped it to get everyone’s attention.
“Dinner is about to be served, so if you’d like to find your seats…”
Our guests quickly moved to their assigned seats. Myself, Palmer, Mason, and Brax were sitting at one table, with my parents sitting next to us at another table. Addie, Gannon, Sutton, and Brody sat on the other side. Kris had arranged it so those three tables were facing toward the room, with the other tables spread out evenly in the rest of the space. Our tables were rectangle, while everyone else’s were round to allow for easy conversations.
We spent the rest of the evening eating, talking, laughing, dancing, and enjoying ourselves. I loved seeing my parents having fun, and I know Palmer did as well. There was something so special about sitting there watching your mom and dad dance and kiss.
After stepping away from talking to my parents and their best friends, I moved to the other side of the room where a bar was set up. I needed water for my dry throat.
Warm arms engulfed me as I waited for my ice water. Dropping my head back against Brax, I said, “When can we leave? I’m exhausted.”
His breath tickled my neck when he laughed softly. “We can leave whenever you’d like.”
The bartender handed me the ice water, and I took a long drink before I set it down and turned in his arms to face him.
“Did you know we have the entire bed and breakfast to ourselves?”
He raised a brow. “How did that happen?”
“Kris booked the honeymoon suite on the top floor for us, and Palmer and Mason are going to stay on the second floor. There aren’t any other current guests.”
“And how did we luck out with the top floor?”
Giving him a sexy smile, I replied, “I have my ways.”
He leaned down and brushed his lips against mine. “Do you think anyone would notice if we slipped away?”
Looking past his shoulder, I saw Palmer and Mason standing together, his arm around her waist. They looked so happy, and that warmed my heart.
