I stop right in front of the milk section and turn around to face her. “Are you following me?”
“Maybe, maybe not.” She raises a brow. “Where are Felix and Dylan?”
I’m surprised she found me here. She must’ve been tracking my movements, which means she’s been keeping tabs on Dylan and Felix as well.
“They outside waiting for you?” she asks.
I shrug and ignore her, but she keeps hammering down on me.
She eyes me up and down the same way she did when Felix demanded she get on her knees. And fuck me, the mere memory makes my cock twitch.
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing,” I reply, adjusting my nuts through my pockets.
She glances at my pockets. “Got something in there?”
She’s smarter than I thought she’d be.
“You trying to steal shit?” she asks.
Nosy girl.
“Why do you care?”
She folds her arms. “You’re rich, yet you can’t pass up the opportunity to steal it anyway. Why?”
“Call me an adrenaline junkie,” I answer, tilting my head. “I love the thrill.” I lean in to whisper, “But most of all … I love to watch.”
With a dead-serious face, she says, “You know I won’t let you and your fucking buddies walk all over me, right?”
Adrenaline courses through my body at the thought of running as fast as I can.
I normally manage to walk out of any shop with ease with all the goods I could ever want, but this girl … this girl is going to make it hard on me, I just know it.
Those fiery eyes of hers tempt me to respond. “Do you think threats work on us?”
“I don’t care.” She closes in on me.
“Go home and eat that tub of ice cream,” I reply.
She ignores what I say. “Do you think I’ll let you walk after what you did to me?”
I tilt my head, smirking. “I didn’t do shit.”
She suddenly shoves me against the fridge, and some of the milk containers tumble to the floor, dirtying my new Balenciagas. Fuck.
I don’t get pissed off easily, but that’ll do it.
“That won’t be all I’ll destroy,” she says through gritted teeth.
She really is a spicy one, just as Felix said.
I like it.
“Was that why you fuckers stole my diary? To fuck with me?” she sneers. “Which one of you stole it?”
A smirk forms on my face.
“It was you, wasn’t it?” she asks.
I won’t deny that stealing is my forte. “Doesn’t matter what the answer is, it won’t change the fact that you’ve now become Felix’s whore …” I lean in, my blood curdling with desire when I smell her woody perfume. “And if you don’t stop digging, Dylan and I will have a turn as well.”
She twitches, visibly shaken by my comment, her eyes slowly focusing on mine as though she’s having trouble even looking at me.
“In your fucking dreams,” she growls.
I tap her forehead. “Watch me make those fucking dreams a reality.”
I pass by her and head for the exit, but she quickly trails me. “You think I’m going to let you fucking walk away?”
“Watch me,” I reply stoically.
She follows me around the store with her bucket of ice cream. “I’ll get you to talk.”
“There’s nothing to talk about,” I reply, heading straight for the front door before things go south.
“Fine,” she retorts and immediately heads for the cashier.
My eyes widen when I see her point at me and say the words, “That guy is trying to steal your stuff.”
Fuck.
Of course she’d try to get me arrested.
I bolt off as fast as I can toward the parking lot while the sirens inside the store go off. Several guards chase after me, along with the store’s cashier.
“Alistair!” Dylan yells from his car as he watches me run up to them with lightning speed. “What the fuck happened in there?!”
“Talk later, just fucking drive!” I yell as I jump into the passenger’s seat and slam the door shut behind me.
Dylan hits the gas and laughs like a maniac as he veers off the road and makes a screeching U-turn. “That’s one way to get the adrenaline going. WOO!”
Felix suddenly chucks a knife into the dashboard. A clear warning.
I turn to look at him.
“You’d better fucking explain, or I swear to God—”
“It was the girl. Penelope,” I explain. “She was there. She snitched on me.”
His brows twitch. “So she’s following us.”
I nod. “Seems like it. It’s too much of a coincidence. And I’ve seen her hanging around the building too often.”
“Of course she is,” Dylan muses. “She’s obsessed now that she’s gotten the D!” He licks his teeth. “And I can’t fucking wait to try out that dirty mouth for myself.”
Felix chucks his other knife at the seat Dylan is in, and it lodges into the side, missing him by a hair. But Felix only misses on purpose, never by accident.
“Watch it.”
Is he defensive over her?
Dylan throws him a deadly look through the mirror. “You’re not the only one allowed to have fun.”
