“It’s nice to meet you, Mrs…”

“Ugh God. None of that Mrs. shit. You can call me Giulia or Gi. We are family now, after all, no?” Smiling, I nod my head and hope my anxiety doesn’t show. Then a man who looks so much like my father, gets up from the chair and walks around the desk. He stops in front of me and smiles.

“Wow, you look just like Tia Ember,” he says, his voice full of awe. I gasp because no one talks about my mom in Cuba. My father forbade it.

“Do you remember her?” I ask him, completely dialed in now.

“I do. She was so loving, and she loved you so much. My parents and I used to come there often on business. You were a tiny thing, but so beautiful.” He smiles and pulls me into his arms. Overcome with emotion having a family that obviously cares for me, I hug him back. “Bienvenido a casa prima.” He welcomes me home before releasing me and stepping back.

“Thank you.”

“We are so sorry to learn of your ordeal. Please know everyone involved will be dealt with, our way,” Giulia says with the look of death in her eyes. “I assume however, you and your new husband would like to go to your home.” Putting my head down I can’t stop the blush. “I don’t expect to see you for a few days, B. Enjoy your new bride, but be ready to jump right in after. Understand?” She looks at Larabee and I turn to see his face. His jaw is clenched in determination, and it dawns on me that I have never seen him in his environment.

“You can count on it, Boss.”

“Very good. Well, gentleman, husband and baby are waiting for me back home, so I am going to jump on the jet and go. Are you two okay, or do I need to referee?” I figure she is talking to my husband and cousin.

“We will be fine, Giulia. As long as he is good to Satine, I have nothing to say.” With his words, Larabee pulls me into him and kisses my neck.

“That you don’t have to worry about,” my husband says. I lean back onto him and take a deep breath. Once all of the goodbyes are done, we walk to the door and Lar looks at me. “Are you ready to go to your new home, baby?” Nodding I stand on my tiptoes and kiss his mouth.

“Yes. Take me home.” And never let me go.

One Week Later

Rolling over, I am not surprised to see I am in bed alone. It doesn’t make me less pissy though. The past few days, I have awoken to her out of bed, either in the library on the ledge looking out into the garden, or sitting on the edge of the pool with her legs swinging in the water. Sometimes, I leave her to her thoughts, aware that we all need moments to ourselves to think and reflect. Other times I took control.

Occasionally, I see her staring off into space with a trouble look on her face and I know that she's once again thinking about what happened to her and everything in me wants to erase those bad memories like they never happened, replace them with only good things, love and pleasure, but I know that's not possible. The only thing I can do is fill her days with joy and so many orgasms she can barely stay awake.

As I move closer to her, I try not to startle her, so I make sure that my feet hit the ground pretty hard. “Hey,” she says, about to turn around, but I have other ideas.

“Stay just like you are, Piccola. Place your hands on the counter,” I whisper into her ear. She stays in position and places her hands where I told her to. I can hear the slight intake of breath which is fucking addictive. Watching her do what I command of her, every fucking time, you have no idea how much that feels.

I walk behind her, my chest flush with her back, and wrap my arms around her waist. She's wearing the dress I picked out for her this morning just like the good girl I know she is. Slowly I lick and bite up her neck right to that sensitive spot she loves right behind her ear.

“How are you doing baby?”

“I'm doing fine,” she says, her voice low and heavy.

“I know you're fine Angel, but that's not what I asked you. How are you doing?” I dig my fingers in a little harder on her skin, the bruises I gave her before are starting to fade and we can't have that.

“I'm okay. It's just that sometimes I go in and out of that dark space you know.” I stop for a second to acknowledge what she's saying and kiss the side of her head.
