"You and I make our own luck."

"You did not just say that," she groans.

"What?" I ask as she rolls her pretty eyes. If we weren't standing here in front of a bunch of people, I'd strip her naked and spank her ass for that. Hell, my palm is itching just thinking about it. Yet, for some reason, I don’t think my woman would appreciate it at this moment. Besides, I’m in a hurry to have my ring on her finger.

"That's so cliche."

"It's still true."

"Are you sure you want to get married, Lina?" Marco asks, interrupting my thoughts of her pink ass. I turn to glare at him. Motherfucker.

"She's sure," I snarl.

Melina looks up at me as if to chastise me for answering for her before looking over at her brother, her gaze softening. "I'm sure, Marco."

Marco leans in to kiss her forehead as I snatch her away, pulling her tightly to my side.

"I told you to stop touching her asshole," I growl out.

"And I told you that she's my sister."

"I don't care. The only lips touching her from here on out are mine and any child she gives me," I tell him, staring him down, daring him to argue with me.

Lina touches my chest with her hand, stopping me. "Antonio."

"I mean it," I tell Marco as she sighs.

"You're being unreasonable."

"I'm not," I tell her insistently. "If not my lips, our children's, but that's it. They are the only ones you need. Hell, you could be carrying that child as we speak."

"I told you I didn't want to be a parent yet," she complains, sighing heavily.

"I know, but we didn't go get the birth control, and you've been using my body shamelessly for your pleasure, baby," I tell her, smiling down at her as chuckles fill the room. The only one not laughing is Marco as he grimaces.

"Come again? I've been using your body?" she asks, as her cheeks burn a pretty pink.

"Are you going to deny that?" I ask mischievously.

"You should probably stop talking if you still want me to say I do," she says defiantly.

"Then you should stop trying to argue with me, or else the priest is going to see me do a lot more to you than you want," I warn, delivering the threat of a good time hanging between us. She knows that she better respond carefully because I have no shame, and I will gladly take her right here, right now.

She opens her mouth to argue my claim, but I shake my head once to stop her.

"We both know I can make you give me what I want. Don't tempt me, Lina," I advise.

She snaps her mouth shut. "Father, can we get this marriage over and done with...please?" she asks, just as Killian gives the priest a look to get this ball rolling.

"God help us all. She's starting to sound like him," Niko groans.

"That's because she was made for me."

Lina lets out an annoyed breath, but when I lean down to kiss her, I know she is aware it is true, because she melts into my arms.

The priest clears his throat. “Let us humbly invoke God’s blessing upon this bride and groom, in order to receive His kindness and favor for the Sacrament of Matrimony…”

My gaze focuses on the woman at my side as she smiles at me. I vow to spend the rest of my life doing whatever I have to do to make sure Lina is nothing but happy from this moment on.

One Week Later

Relaxing into the role as Antonio’s wife was easier than I had expected. Although I wanted to wait to get married, I find myself staying busy by running around to ensure everything about our house is perfect.

I think I do it partially because I wanted him to fall in love with me as I love him. Since we rushed into saying I do, I know I've worked just a bit harder to show him why he can let his guard down with me.

It truly hasn’t been work. I've made friends with almost everyone on Antonio's staff. I'm truly happy for the first time in my life, and them welcoming me with open arms makes me feel as if I have a place here. It feels like home and that’s far more than I can say about my father’s prison I once lived in. Even the staff there ignored or mocked me much like he used to.

“What are you doing?”

I jerk around to see Antonio leaning in the doorway, watching me. His hand is in his pants pocket, with his shirt sleeves rolled up, showing off the tattoos on his forearms. He could be a damn model. No, he's even sexier than a GQ model.

And he's all mine.

"I'm just checking Helen's room."

"Il mio tesoro, you've been fixing up this room for days now," he chastises, shaking his head. My eyes dip to the open button at his chest. I'm insatiable when I think about all the hard edges he has under there.
