Rico was exactly like that. Without even knowing who I was, Rico had slaughtered a room full of men, dropping bodies just because they’d mistreated me. He still had no idea what exactly had happened to me for the past few years, but he’d protected me with… extreme prejudice, like Ace said his Papa does.

And I’d seen Rico lose his shit over men he did business with pointing their guns at me. He’d almost fucked up an alliance he had with someone over me.

He’d taken me into his home and loved me without a beat of hesitation. I’d never felt so warm and safe in my life. And I had a feeling the rest of my life would be like this. Because of him. Because of Rico.

Anurak: I think Rico could be my Daddy.

Ace: I think he could, too. Rico is a fucking dick 99% of the time, but he’s always given me Daddy vibes.

I scowled at his message.

Anurak: Rico is not a dick.

Ace: *laugh crying emoji* Little bunny, he definitely is. He’s just not an asshole to you. There’s a difference. He’s feared, and I’m pretty sure Jax, Gunner, and I are the only people who actually trust him. He’s a snake in human skin, but he’s loyal when it comes down to it. You’ve got a good man in your corner.

Anurak: I’m ignoring that you’re talking badly about Rico.

Ace: You’re better than me. If someone bad-mouthed Gunner, I’d probably break all their teeth.

I gaped at my phone, and a shiver of fear raced down my spine. I forced it to tamp down though. I didn’t think Ace would ever hurt me. He didn’t give me those vibes. He was definitely a force to be reckoned with, even if he was small like me, but I had a feeling he’d latched onto me.

Anurak: I don’t know what to say.

Ace: *laughing emoji* You’re so cute, little bunny.

I glanced toward Rico’s office when I heard him bark, “Maldito idiota!” I winced. Whoever was on the other side of that phone call had thoroughly pissed him off. Maybe he needed a distraction? I was always able to calm him.

Anurak: I’m going to see if I can feel Rico out on this Daddy thing. Talk later?

Ace: Sure thing, little bunny. Good luck!

Locking my phone like Rico had told me to do whenever I was done with it, I stood and headed toward Rico’s office, my heart in my throat. This could go one of two ways: either really, really good or so terribly bad, Rico abandoned me.

The latter option settled in my stomach like lead, and it was terrifying enough that I almost turned on my heel and abandoned my plan entirely. But if I didn’t try, I may never know. And there was the chance that this did work, that Rico was okay with being a Daddy. And despite the fear crawling through my veins and making my skin feel two sizes too small for my body, the possibility that this would be right made the terror worth it.

When I stepped into Rico’s office, he was standing in front of his desk, a scowl on his face, his hand clenched tightly around his personal phone as he held it up to his ear. Sensing my presence, he glanced up at me, his eyes softening like it was second nature. His shoulders deflated a little, his posture revealing that, despite his aggravation, he was open to me being in his space.

My own heart rate slowed, and my muscles relaxed. Making my way around his desk, I slid between him and the solid piece of furniture before slowly sinking to my knees in front of him. His pupils blew wide, and he clenched his jaw.

“Hold on a fucking minute,” Rico growled before lowering his phone and jabbing his finger against the mute button. He slung the phone onto his desk before lacing his fingers in my hair, tilting my head back so I was forced to look up at him. I swallowed thickly, my belly sloshing with nerves. Was he going to turn me away? “What are you doing, perrito?”

Reaching up with shaky hands, I began undoing his belt buckle. He sharply inhaled, his nostrils flaring and his pupils blowing wide. I licked my suddenly dry lips. “Can I… Daddy?” I whispered.

A low growl rumbled from his chest, and his fingers tightened in my hair as I freed his hard, leaking cock. “What did you just call me?” he rasped.

I swallowed thickly. “Daddy,” I said quietly.

Another quiet growl sounded from his chest, and my belly clenched, warmth pooling low in my groin. My cock throbbed for him. “Papi,” he rasped.

I frowned. “Huh?” I blurted.

He drew in a deep breath and scraped his nails across my scalp. “Not Daddy, perrito. Papi.”

My balls tightened so fast with the need to come, it made me dizzy. I’d been terrified he was about to send me away, but he hadn’t. In fact, he’d corrected me, telling me to call him the Spanish variation of Daddy.
