“Mason, oh my goodness.”
My gorgeous boyfriend merely takes my left hand in his and kisses my knuckles. His eyes are so full of love that my heart hurts, and I smile through my tears.
“You have given me everything,” he says, emotion turning his voice thick. “I love you and our baby more than I ever believed it was possible to love anyone. Michelle Richardson, would you do me the honor of becoming my wife? Will you put this poor wretch out of his unhappiness and do me the honor of becoming my one and only?”
I laugh through watery eyes.
“Yes. God yes, I’ll marry you, Mason. I love you so much, and our baby is going to look just like you, with your black hair and blue eyes. You’re going to be the best daddy ever.” Then I throw my arms around him and start kissing him feverishly, plastering myself against that huge frame.
Meanwhile, my fiancé returns my kisses before pulling back and sliding the ring onto my fourth finger. “It fits perfectly sweetheart, and I promise I’m going to make you and our baby happy.”
I smile and wind my arms around him again. “You already do, Mason. I can’t wait to marry you, and I love you.”
With that, our lips join once more as our hearts and souls entwine together. Maybe we came together when I reached for the wrong tube of paint during art class long ago, but there’s nothing wrong about that now. In fact, everything’s right, and will be right forevermore.
