I can’t have her dredging up emotions I’ve buried or memories I don’t want to deal with.

I can’t have her tempting my brothers or tempting me, or worse, getting between us.

This is my year. Everything I’ve worked for is on the line. And Riley Johnstone won’t ruin it for me.

EPISODE 261

ICING THE CAKE - THE HOCKEY CHANNEL WITH A SWEET BITE

[Video opens with the host from the neck down in her lively kitchen, mixing a bowl of cake batter with a pink whisk and an apron featuring a shirtless Karl Skarsgard]

Anonymous Host:

“Hey, cake lovers, hockey honeys and puck heads! Welcome back to Icing the Cake, where we mix hockey, baking, and a little bit of sass! Today’s topic? Team dynamics! Specifically, how well the Eastern U Icebreakers are handling their newest star, Skarsgard, who’s got everyone buzzing about his NHL draft potential.”

[Cut to a series of clips of Karl Skarsgard displaying his immense skill on the ice set to upbeat music.]

Anonymous Host:

“And by ‘everyone buzzing,’ I mean everyone—except Jacob Drayton.”

[Cut to a short, exaggerated clip of Jacob brooding on the ice, looking none too pleased, set to moody music.]

Anonymous Host:

“Now, don’t get me wrong, Jacob’s a beast on the ice and his place in the NHL is almost a given. But I think we all know that when a flashy new rookie like Skarsgard shows up with the NHL spotlight already on him… well, let’s just say that sharing isn’t exactly Jacob’s favorite play. On the ice, at least. I’ve heard he doesn’t mind in the bedroom.”

[Back in the kitchen, she raises her whisk like a mic, addressing her audience.]

Anonymous Host:

“So, to commemorate this… interesting season of brooding and bonding, we’re making something extra special today. A treat that celebrates teamwork and maybe a bit of healthy competition. I present to you: the “Power Play Cake”!”

[She gestures to a series of cake layers on the counter, some labeled with Drayton and others with Skarsgard, all in different colors.]

Anonymous Host:

“This cake has multiple layers, just like a good hockey team. We’ve got a chocolate layer for the veterans—cough, Jacob—and a bold, blue, slightly over-the-top layer for Skarsgard, our new rookie sensation.”

[She stacks the layers, narrating with each addition.]

Anonymous Host:

“Now, the thing about layers is they’ve gotta support each other if you don’t want the whole thing toppling over. Much like a hockey team, right? Every layer is important, and if one gets too top-heavy… well, the whole cake goes down! The Draytons should take note. The size of their egos and heads could topple the Icebreakers if they’re not careful!”

[Cut to a clip of her carefully balancing the cake layers, then frosting it with intense concentration.]

Anonymous Host:

“Jacob’s layer here is solid, but rough around the edges—like a chocolate cake without a crumb coat. And Skarsgard’s? Flashy as a blueberry-burst cake. Almost too flashy, if you ask me. But hey, he’s supposed to have the talent to back it up.”

[Once the layers are stacked, she pulls out fondant hockey sticks and little fondant figures, one with a serious-looking scowl and the other with a confident smirk, placing them on top.]

Anonymous Host:

“And there you have it: the Power Play Cake! It’s sweet, packed with tension, and hopeful, a whole lot of teamwork… go Icebreakers.”

[She holds up the cake with its layers.]

Anonymous Host:

“Now, my advice to Jacob? Share the ice and the spotlight. Skarsgard might bring the competition, but a little competition can make you better. And to Skarsgard? Maybe dial it back one notch. A team’s only as good as the respect you show for each other… unless you want your rookie layer sliding right off! And to the other Draytons? Keep the ego out of the game. We see you, Hayes, barreling around like you’re a bouncer, and Shawn, who’s more interested in flirting than goaltending.”

[She presses down gently on the cake layers, pretending to stabilize them.]

Anonymous Host:

“Whether you’re the rough-around-the-edges veteran, or the too-flashy rookie, the recipe’s the same: support each other, hold your ground, and don’t be afraid of a little icing on top!”

[She slices a piece, revealing the inside with its contrasting layers and rich fillings, holding it up to the camera.]

Anonymous Host:

“So here’s to the Eastern U Icebreakers—may they be as strong as this cake, and a lot less likely to crumble under pressure! Now, leave me a comment. Who’s your favorite: the brooding chocolate or the flashy blueberry? Until next time, keep it sweet, keep it steady, and hopefully keep it humble!”

[She takes a big spoonful of cake, and the screen fades out to the channel logo and social media handles.]

[End of video.]

“I like a little rookie enthusiasm. I’m more than happy to teach him how to score every time.”

“I wouldn’t mind a Drayton/Skarsgard sandwich. Rookie in front, veteran behind, and me the very happy gooey center.”
