Corey? Interesting.

“So that’s why I’m gonna corner Corey next time I see him,” he finished.

I smirked. Good plan. Ty was definitely a man on a mission. A man on the prowl.

That was where I wanted to be with Macklin, except my faith betrayed me whenever we stumbled upon an obstacle. Or he texted something fucking stupid.

Our path was far from clear. If anything, it was littered with debris. In order for me to fight for Macklin—for us—I needed to feel like he was coming for me too. Having to remind him that I was supposed to be his primary was a shitty fucking feeling, one that knocked me down more than I wanted to admit.

Besides, how did I reel someone in when they required a longer leash?

Being with others won’t diminish our love for each other.

I didn’t know how to stake my claim, for lack of a better term, without consuming all of him. All these notions of sharing and flexibility and openness left me raw and confused—and they stopped me from going all the way. It was as if I was trying to reestablish my ownership from ten feet away, because one more step closer made me terrified I would suffocate him. Like I’d done last time.

“By the way, are you and Macklin going to Mclean on Saturday?” Ty asked.

I cleared my throat and inclined my head, not particularly hungry anymore. “We are. Lucian and I are hosting a TPE demo with a friend visiting from San Francisco.”

“Well, ain’t that just perfect,” he chuckled. “I need inspiration and a lesson or two in how to get into the domestic side of kink.”

I tilted my head, curious. “All part of your plan?”

“Yeah. Lane needs a Dom.”

Boy, did he. And then I exhaled as something fell into place with a click that reverberated through my skull. Macklin was a wonderful Top. I fully believed he’d make a great Dominant too, for briefer arrangements—or rather, less restricted ones. But Ty was the man who should fill those shoes for Lane, not Macklin.

“After seeing you in action, I have no doubt you’re a natural,” I assured. “But observing others is always a fine idea. Exchanging experiences and talking to other Doms is how I’ve learned more and—” The lights flickered above us, effectively cutting me off, and I frowned at the lights in the high ceiling.

Was the weather really deteriorating so fast?

“Uh, maybe we should get started in case we gotta cut our playdate short,” Ty said.

Yes. I nodded firmly and crammed the last piece of the crust into my mouth. “Onward with the playdate.”

I took a swig of my beer and eyed Ty as he put his mind to work. The bench was cleared, aside from our half-eaten pizza and the tentacle sleeve I’d dug out. My largest silicone creation yet. A full sleeve that went up to my shoulder. One-inch thick, soft silicone with one side covered in suction cups about an inch wide.

He sat on one of the stools and inspected the suction cups closely.

The last of the daylight was nearly gone outside, and the only indication of an approaching storm we could even sense was the sound of harsh, whistling winds. The lights hadn’t flickered in a while, so perhaps that had been a fluke. But it was cold, though. We had to keep the heater on the workbench unless we wanted to bundle up in coats.

Macklin had texted to make sure I was following the weather updates and keeping off the roads, and I hadn’t needed more than that to get into higher spirits. He’d worked an early shift at the restaurant, so he was at home now, ready to light a bunch of candles in case the power went out.

“Is it possible to make the suction cups in a more resilient silicone?” Ty asked. “They need a bit more resistance in order to latch on to skin.”

Hmm. Yeah, that shouldn’t be a problem. I walked closer and leaned over the bench to get up close with the sleeve too. Brushing my thumb over one of the little suction cups, I was starting to see what he was getting at. He actually wanted them to suck on skin, which… Okay, I had no idea how he was going to create a vacuum for that to happen. But yes, the silicone I cured today was much too soft.

“You can see the seams here along the sides of the underside,” I murmured. “I have a separate mold for this one, and then I fuse it together at high heat with the rest of the sleeve when all is done. In other words, the mold for the underside is narrow and flat, meaning I can keep the suction cups level in the stage where I pour the silicone.” It might be better to just show him. I excused myself for a hot second and strode over to the tables by the window.
