It was everything and more. We could have gotten married before Stone was born. In fact, Jasper really wanted to, even if it was just at the courthouse. When we sat down and discussed everything, I really wanted Stone to be a part of our special day though. So, we waited, and it was worth it. Jasper in a fitted suit was out of this world, though he still had a pair of cowboy boots on his feet; those were just fancier than what he usually wore.
My wedding dress was what my dreams were made of, full of lace, long, and tight fitting. It had a cowgirl with a bohemian vibe. It’s something that I will never let go of, and maybe one day, Stone’s future wife will want it, or any future children we might have.
“Da-da!” Stone breaks me out of my reverie.
“Yeah, he’s coming home for fourteen days. Nothing but the three of us, lots of fun and hanging out around here,” I tell him even though he has no idea what I’m saying.
We wait until Jasper pulls into our driveway, puts his truck in Park, and that’s when we stroll over to him. I watch as he steps out of his vehicle. I don’t care what time of the day it is or what he’s doing, he still takes my breath away.
“Damn, it’s been way too long since I’ve held you in my arms.” He wraps his arms around us. He had a long stretch this time around, a full two weeks away. It was a lot of FaceTime calls while Stone was awake and once he was asleep.
“We missed you.” Jasper takes our son, holds him with his left arm, then wraps his other arm around me, our lips seeking one another’s.
“Missed you guys too.” I figure we’ll go inside, where he’ll want to collapse on the couch. Instead, we head over to the swing.
“God, I love you,” I tell him once I sit down. He puts Stone on my lap.
“I love you, wildflower. There are some changes going on in the company. We’ll have to talk more about it when the time comes, but it could mean changes for us—me home more, a possible pay raise, maybe a pay cut.” Jasper starts pushing the swing.
“There’s not enough money in the world that could keep you away from us. We live well within our means. If it’s a pay cut, we’ll be good. It’s not like I don’t clip coupons either way.” I turn my head, letting him know how I feel.
“I have no doubt about that. I just wanted to let you know.” He nods his head. And that’s how we spend our evening. We don’t rush through our evening outside, in fact we stay out until the sun starts to drift out of our sight. I may have had slight doubts about our home at first, but I’m so thankful Jasper saw through the bad and reached for the good. This place is holding more than a house with four walls—it holds all the memories we’ve made and all the ones we’ll continue to make.

Jasper
Six And A Half Years Later
“I love date night,” Aspen whispers into my ear. My mom has both Stone and Forrest. Stone is almost eight, and Forrest is almost four. The two of them are a handful, and it’s not very often we get a night to ourselves. This time though, we’re getting a full weekend, but Aspen doesn’t know it.
“It’s a good thing this is actually our weekend. I don’t want one article of clothing on you. It’s a full-on naked weekend. You’re lucky your tubes are tied, or I’d for sure be fucking my cum deep into your womb.” We decided after her last pregnancy that two was our limit. It’s not that she had a bad pregnancy. Aspen was happy with two, and truth be told, we weren’t at the best position to continue to bring children into our life. My company was still restructuring, making it to where I could come home every night, but that didn’t mean I was home early. Hell, some nights, the house was completely dark. Stone and Aspen would be snug in our bed, having dozed off reading a bedtime story.
Before Forrest was born, we made the decision, either I’d get a vasectomy, or she’d get her tubes tied. Either way, it didn’t make a difference to me, but there was no way I’d be selfish enough to leave Aspen with more than two children, a business, and our home to deal with when I was working so much.
“It’s a good thing that isn’t a possibility. I do remember you making a promise not long ago that you’d fuck me so hard and raw I wouldn’t be able to walk the next day. Feel like making good on that promise, Mr. Knight?”
