Turning, I narrow my eyes. “You did what?”

“I filmed you and her, just in case.” She starts to walk up the stairs, a smug smile on her face. “I really don’t get you. You made her leave, Jett. You picked me.”

Pain, almost a burn in my chest, which I try to ignore, spirals through me.

“What the fuck? Raven is your daughter.” My hand goes to rub my chest, as if that can protect me from the truth that she’s right: I did pick her.

I picked her, then destroyed Raven, thinking I was doing the right thing.

“She tried to take what’s mine, and that I can’t have.” She takes the last step as we face each other.

I smile, because she’s now crossed the line, and I’m done. “You are a fucked-up cunt. I used to admire that. I don’t anymore. It’s that simple. Keep the ring, and Rebecca will take care of canceling the wedding.” My voice stays calm.

Turning, I continue up the stairs and step into my room. Rachel follows me.

“You’re making a mistake.” Her voice goes up a notch, and I can sense her becoming desperate.

“I. Don’t. Care.”

She might intimidate most people, but she’s never gone up against me. I throw open my closet and crouch down to open my safe.

“Jett, think. Do you honestly think Raven will ever trust you? Forgive you? She won’t. I know her—she never forgets.” She laughs, but it’s hollow.

I bring out my passport and some cash, then kick the safe shut.

“I’ll take my chances. Either way, I’d rather be alone than spend another minute with you.”

“Really?” She takes a step. “You have no idea how much damage I will cause. This is what I do, Jett! No one will side with you. Our friends will shun you.”

My lips twitch. “You’re right. You are the best at what you do, but you forget, I’m a goddamn legend at what I do. You believe I give a fuck about what anyone thinks?” I cock my head at her.

“I have TMZ on speed dial,” she hisses.

Raven was right about her mother. She thinks she’s got me, but I’m about to introduce her to the real Jett Powers.

“I just want to make sure I’m hearing you correctly,” I say. “You’re trying to bribe me with a sex video of Raven and me?”

She licks her lips and takes a step back as if hearing it out loud has made her hesitate. I smile—this is what I was born for, taking down people like her.

“I’d think twice before you do anything that might… not work in your favor. You can say whatever you want about me, but what you say you have on your phone gets erased.”

“Fuck you, Jett,” she screams. “I’m not being discarded like I’m nothing. I worked my ass off to get where I am, and if you think I’m letting her win…” Her face reddens.

Reaching out, I cup her face. She looks up at me with wild eyes.

“You lost. Now, you can walk away and keep your career, money, and life, or you can go to war with me. And, believe me, darlin’, I’m not bragging when I tell you this. I will destroy you. And when I’m done, I’ll give you the gun to end your miserable existence just so I can piss on your grave.” My voice sounds like a caress, yet my hand tightens on her neck. She struggles, her nails digging into my chest.

“The choice is yours.” I let go of her and she stumbles back, sitting down at the end of the bed.

“You wouldn’t dare—”

“I dare everything. In fact, my cock is hard just thinking about it.” I reach for my dick. “Now, pack your shit and don’t be here when I get back.”

As I move around her, she stares at me wide-eyed, fear keeping her ugly mouth shut.

“I’ll delete it,” she says at last, her voice flat.

The beast in me has been unleashed, though, and I almost want to thank her for making it happen.

“I thought you’d make the right choice,” I say over my shoulder as I leave her.

Texting Iain, I make my way downstairs. I head straight to the kitchen and take her phone and purse, then walk to my office.

Iain is already there, along with Eddie and Larry, my assistant. “I want someone on her twenty-four-seven,” I say to Iain, tossing her phone to Larry and setting her purse down.

“Transfer all her stuff, then strip it. Get into all her bank accounts.” Larry looks up as he plugs her phone into my laptop.

“You want me to freeze the accounts?” He starts to type on the laptop.

“Just one. She’s desperate right now. It’ll send her a message that I’m not fucking around. We can reassess when I get back.”

I look over at Iain. “I’ll take the G6.”

He nods. “I’ll get the team ready.”
