Inhaling slowly, I climbed off the bed and held my hand out to her.

Her breath was still a little choppy, and her chocolate brown orbs were glassy, putting a cocky smirk on my face. She took my hand, and I helped her scoot off the bed and stand.

“You’re sexy as hell, you know that?” I whispered as I wrapped her up in my arms.

“Right back at ya,” she giggled. She leaned into me for a few moments, then sighed and stepped back. “I should take a shower.”

“Absolutely not,” I replied even though she hadn’t asked it as a question.

“What? Jeremy, I’m…um”—her cheeks turned adorably red, and her gaze was on my chest—“I’m all…you know…sticky.”

I grinned. “I know.”

McKenna raised her head and wrinkled her nose. “So I should go shower.”

I shook my head and laced our fingers together, guiding her toward my closet. “No.”

“Why?”

I came to a stop and turned to face her, placing one of my hands on her hip and the other cupping her center. “Because I like knowing you have me inside you and on you. Branding you as mine. It’s hot as fuck that you have my scent all over you, and it will tell any asshole who even thinks about hitting on you that you’re taken.”

McKenna’s eyes had grown wider as I spoke until they were big and round. Her mouth opened and shut a few times, then she closed it and stared at me in stunned silence.

I gave her pussy a little smack, and my dick turned to stone when a spark of lust flared in her brown pools. We were one hundred percent going to be exploring that soon.

Patting her ass gently, I encouraged her to walk ahead of me into my massive closet. She paused at the door and pivoted, then raised her left hand and waved it in front of my face. “You don’t think this giant rock is enough to warn off other men?”

Glancing down at the beautiful ring on her elegant finger, I shrugged. “Nope. It could have been ten carats, and men would still be panting after you.”

McKenna frowned and looked at me like I had ten heads. “Men don’t pant after me. They don’t even notice me.”

I laughed and kissed her forehead before turning her around and gently pushing her into the closet. “You keep believing that, baby.” I pulled a T-shirt from one of the shelves on the wall, then hunted down a pair of sweatpants. “Here. These should work.”

McKenna stared at the garments incredulously. “Those are huge, Jeremy. I’ll swim in them!”

“It’s just until we get to your apartment so you can change before lunch.”

She glanced over the clothes again, then sighed. “I can probably make them work for a car ride.”

“Great.” I kissed her forehead again, then pulled on a pair of jeans and a short-sleeve Henley.

When I walked into the bedroom, I chuckled because McKenna was right. The clothes completely dwarfed her. The shirt went down to her knees and was falling off one shoulder, and she’d tightened the drawstring on the pants enough that they wouldn’t fall. She looked cute as fuck, and I liked seeing her in my clothes.

“Let’s go, baby.” She nodded and walked out of the room ahead of me. “I don’t want to be late to meet your grandfather.”

McKenna halted so fast that I ran right into her and could barely keep her from falling.

“Oh, my gosh!” she squeaked as she spun around with a horrified expression.

“Did I hurt you?” I asked, doing a quick scan of her body.

“What? No. Jeremy, we’re going to see my grandpa!”

My brow furrowed, and I cocked my head to the side. “I know.”

She closed the distance between us and went up on her tiptoes, trying to get her face close to mine. Then she whispered loudly, “I can’t see him like this! Covered in…um…smelling like…he’s my grandfather!” Her cheeks were bright red.

I grinned and took her hand, resuming our journey to the garage. “Yes, you can, baby. He won’t know.”

“But-but-I’ll know!” she sputtered.

Glancing back at her, I winked. “Exactly.”

McKenna huffed, but she didn’t argue any more, allowing me to lead her out to the car and help her inside.

I drove to her apartment, and she looked at me curiously when I parked at the back. “How did you know where I live?”

“I knew of your studio, and since you don’t live with your grandfather, I figured you probably lived above it.” That was mostly true, at least.

Her eyes were narrowed. “What if you were wrong?”

“I’m good at reading people. And I’m rarely wrong.” Completely true.

She didn’t seem wholly convinced, and I sent up a silent prayer that she wouldn’t force me to admit I’d done a deep dive on her. After seeing her picture the other night, I’d read the file from beginning to end. Twice. And my obsession with her had only grown since meeting her.
