“I see your little plan didn’t work,” I toss at him, tipping my head back so I can see him staring down at me.

“I’m not done yet.”

Reaching out, he grips my chin in his strong grip and holds my head still as he reaches into his pocket and pulls something out. When I see the flash of a white pill in his hand, fear grips me. He’s going to drug me? There is no way I could ever function if he turns me into those other girls. No, this is bad. If I’m drugged, I can’t control my mind and without control of my mind, I can’t get out of here.

“No,” I say, trying to jerk my chin from his grip but he’s too strong.

“If you will not obey me, I will make you obey me.”

I clench my mouth shut, pushing my teeth together as hard as I can so he can’t open them. He tries though, oh my word does he try, his free hand pries at my mouth as he furiously tries to get me to open and take the pill. I growl and squirm, but I do not open my mouth. His grip tightens on my jaw, painfully so, but it isn’t enough to break me.

“Fuck me,” he hisses, straddling me as he pushes my back down onto the bed, “open your fucking mouth.”

I shake my head, wincing in pain at his tight grip. He leans down, his mouth so close to mine I can smell him. His hard body presses me down, his legs either side of my hips, his hand on my jaw. I stare up at him with hatred, refusing to budge, even though my jaw aches. His feral glare pierces me, but it isn’t enough to break me.

“Open your mouth,” he grinds out, his accent thickening with his anger.

I shake my head.

“Open your mouth, or dance for me. The choice is yours, Ellie Mae. I can and will make you yield.”

Panting, I clench my jaw so hard it aches, but there is no way he’s getting that pill inside my body, no fucking way. His hand releases my jaw and slides down to my neck, where he grips me tightly. “You think I can’t make you take this? I can hold you here, until the air is sucked from your lungs, and the moment you pass out, I will do as I wish.”

No.

I try to jerk away again, but his grip tightens, and the air in my lungs starts to dissipate. He’s going to make me take that pill if I don’t do as he asks. If I don’t give him what he wants, then he’ll turn me into a zombie, and I can’t have that. As my heart starts to race and my vision blurs, I know in this moment I have only one choice.

Make him believe I’ll do as he asks.

“Okay,” I gasp, my voice broken. “I’ll dance.”

He releases my throat, and I suck in a ragged breath, my lungs burning from the relief of having air once more. Marek doesn’t move from his position on top of me, instead he looks down, his hair dropping over his shoulders, making him look so fucking good I am forced to turn my face away.

“You will dance for me, right now.”

What?

I whip my head back, looking up at him. “I never once said this was a private show.”

“Dance or I’ll turn you into the one thing that scares you the most ...”

He knows what he’s doing.

The motherfucker is smart, but I’ll find a way to be smarter.

He wants me to dance? Fine. I’ll dance.

I’ll dance so fucking good he’ll be mesmerized. He’ll see exactly why he took me, and he’ll be reminded as to why it would be a bad idea to drug or hurt me. I’ll give him reason to keep me safe, and then I’ll take that reason away. I won’t give in so easily.

“Well, if you get off me, I can put on a show, Master.”

His eyes flash.

Oh, yes.

I can win this one.

Igive him a show, one that will make him see just how good I am. When he takes me out to the stage, I dance, I dance until everyone in that god forsaken tent stops and stares. I twist and I turn, giving it everything I have, every little piece of myself that I keep under wraps, the pieces they won’t let me show to the world. I move until I forget where I am, until I’m taken to another place, and I stay there until my legs ache and my lungs burn.

By the time I stop, the only sound that can be heard is the dark music in the background, the kind of music that brings out the most dangerous parts of your soul, and for me, it unleashed everything I hold back. My eyes scan over the room and stop on Marek, who is watching me, his face scarily expressionless, and yet I can see so much in his eyes.
