She’d whispered, but he’d called out in a strong voice.
“We can’t, sweetie.” And his day was complete because that was his mom. If his mom wasn’t willing to leave him alone, it was serious. His dad and uncle could be overly dramatic, but his mom was super solid.
He groaned and forced himself up. “I’m sorry, baby. We’re going to have to get dressed.”
Lou pouted and he kissed her.
“Yes, dressed. Dressed is best,” his uncle shouted. “I’m too old for this shit.”
Except he knew the man wasn’t since he paraded his wife around a couple of times a week at his sex club. “You’re not old. You’re soft.”
He heard his dad bark out a laugh.
“I’ll show you soft, kid,” his uncle said, a hint of menace in his tone.
Luckily he knew how to handle that old man. “Give me a second. I need to take the clamps off.”
“TJ,” Lou hissed.
“Fuck me,” his uncle groaned.
And TJ wished they could spend the afternoon cuddling, but it looked like the world was pushing its way back in.
Chapter Seventeen
Lou felt oddly calm as she opened her laptop and connected to the screen. The big boss was here, and so were TJ’s parents. It had been that kind of day. Once she’d longed for a large family. Careful what you wish for…
Of course if she’d stayed in bed with TJ this morning, she would only have been forced to see her dad, and he was easily handled with cheesecake.
“Is this…” Big Tag began as he looked down at the couch closest to the screen she’d pulled down.
Theo and Erin had already taken seats on the couch, but Big Tag was staring at it like it might bite him.
“Where I just fucked my sub? Is that what you’re asking?” TJ was a menace. He seemed determined to break his uncle.
Lou groaned and decided to put the man out of his misery. “We didn’t do it on the couch. You can sit down.”
Big Tag tossed his body on the couch beside his brother. “Excellent.”
TJ gave her a smirk, letting her know he approved of the half-truth.
Her whole body hummed with satisfaction, and yet there was still a place inside her that couldn’t fully submit to joy.
She settled her glasses on her nose as she regarded the three parental units currently occupying the couch where she’d absolutely gotten railed. Just not on the actual seat. They’d used it more as a balance. “Is there a reason my parents weren’t invited to this… I’m not sure what this is.”
She did not want to have to do this twice. Luckily she’d set some programs running this morning after the breakfast meeting, and it looked like they were ready. Of course the fact that she couldn’t definitively prove that TJ was innocent had made her anxious.
Maybe that’s why he’s doing it. Maybe he’s pretending to be into you so you’ll find the evidence to keep him out of Agency jail.
Lou sighed. That voice was still there. Might always be.
Big Tag gestured his brother’s way. “Theo has clearance. He’s done some work for Drake over the years, so he’s got the go ahead to sit in on meetings. Erin’s scary enough that no one will question it.”
“And I’ll tell Boomer and Daphne whatever I find out,” Erin said with a nod that let everyone know she did not care. “We’re here because the Brits told us they turned over their intel, and we thought you would have already gone over it.”
“Well, we thought that, but then we found out you discovered boys and now you’re ruined,” Big Tag quipped.
Erin frowned his way. “You sound like the grandmother from a Regency romance. You do know your daughters have had…”
Big Tag shook his head. “Nope. They are perfect angels who would never even consider having sexual relations. Tasha and Dare are committed to celibacy.”
TJ snorted and moved in behind her, wrapping an arm around her waist. “Leave the old guy his delusions.”
“They aren’t delusions. He’s literally been inside the sex club they play at. He’s being…he’s being Big Tag.” She couldn’t call the man an ass. He’d been too good to her over the years, and she knew exactly what he was doing. She’d seen him do it to a lot of people. People who usually ended up as happy couples. “He’s also trying to push me into your arms. If he acts like a weirdo, it gives us a villain we can unite against. I assure you he would be the first one cheering a wedding.”
“Hah, she’s got you down, brother,” Theo said.
“Well, I hope if there’s a wedding, they’ll start having sex in not-public places,” Big Tag explained.
TJ didn’t seem to care that he was playing right into his uncle’s hand. He leaned forward and kissed her earlobe, his voice going low. “Are your nipples sore, baby? I can get rid of these guys.”
