I stopped in front of Arvo’s door, pausing to listen. It was quiet, but I distinctly heard the familiar mewl of a moaning woman. I clenched my jaw and threw open the door, preparing to throw Arvo off Biba.

But Biba wasn’t in the bed. Tess was the one writhing on top of Arvo as she ground her bare body against him. I looked away from them with a huff, frustration still burning through me. Even if Biba wasn’t here right now, I still wanted to talk to Arvo about her.

“I need to talk to you,” I told Arvo.

Arvo slapped Tess on the curve of her ass before pushing her off his lap.

“Out,” he told her before snatching his clothes off the ground next to his bed.

“Out?” Tess asked, looking offended as she scrambled to her feet.

“Did I stutter?” Arvo replied, nodding toward the door.

Tess scoffed and hastily pulled on her clothes before storming out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

“I hope this is important,” Arvo told me as he pulled on his pants.

“It is,” I said as I stepped toward him. “Biba has been acting distant. Does that have anything to do with all of the time you two have been spending together?”

Arvo laughed at first, thinking that I was joking. Gradually, his laughter died down when he realized that my face hadn’t changed from its stony expression.

“Seriously?” he asked me, lifting an eyebrow at me. “You do know that sharing her means that I get to fuck her too, right?”

“I know that,” I snapped, moving to stand a few feet away from him. I didn’t care for him being a smartass right now. “But if there’s something going on between the two of you that’s beyond just fucking, I want to know.”

“I’m not in love with your girl,” Arvo scoffed at me. “Besides, I’m not the one you need to worry about if you’re concerned about her focusing her attention on someone other than you.”

I narrowed my eyes in confusion.

“What do you mean?” I asked him, a tight sensation forming in my stomach.

“I believe she’s been meeting with Sol behind our backs. My spies have seen them together,” Arvo replied as he sat on the edge of his bed. He didn’t look shocked. In fact, he looked quite pleased that a suspicion of his had been confirmed.

A sinking sensation filled my chest as a pounding sound filled my head. What did he just say? I ran his words through my mind once more, processing the information that I didn’t want to hear. I didn’t want to believe that after swearing herself to us that Biba had been sneaking off to fuck Sol. The thought made me sick.

“Are you sure?” I asked him, curling my fingers into tight fists at my sides. I didn’t want this to be true. If it was, I had no choice but to take action, because that was sheer betrayal.

Arvo met my eyes as he nodded slowly.

“Why else would she be with him? She’s buddy-buddy with a traitor,” he replied.

I turned away from him, shaking my head. Fury boiled within me, nearly making my hands shake. My eyes shot over to a wooden table with books and other school supplies on top of it. Unable to rein in my anger, I shoved the table over, books and supplies scattering all over the floor.

“Fuck!” I shouted, my voice filling the room. I could’ve kept screaming and knocking over every item in Arvo’s room, but what would that fix?

Arvo rose to his feet, watching me sink into a deep rage.

“I know you care about her—”

“I don’t care about traitors,” I growled, whipping back around to face him. “We can’t trust them.”

The corner of Arvo’s mouth curled up slightly as he nodded.

“You’re right. We can’t trust her,” he said.

My anger blocked the devastation that I wanted to feel. All I could think about was how angry and disappointed I felt about Biba sneaking around and meeting Sol. I could just picture them tangled up together, his mouth on her breasts and between her thighs. Her head thrown back in ecstasy, and her moans filled whatever room they snuck off to. I was so pissed off that I laughed aloud.

“I should’ve fucking known,” I muttered to myself. She had been showing red flags left and right, but I kept ignoring them because she made me feel something for her. She tricked me, and I was left looking like a fool.

“She was sneaky,” Arvo pointed out. “Sol has been even sneakier.”

I glared at the floor as I crossed my arms, my thoughts centering on Sol. He had been such a thorn in my side for the longest time, and I had actually shown him mercy by not immediately killing him. In fact, I hadn’t wanted to kill him. Now, I wanted him dead before he caused any other problems.
