She threaded her fingers through his, where he’d placed them on her stomach, the touch simple yet intimate. “You sound close to your dad.”

“I am,” he admitted, and found himself spilling yet another secret. “A few years ago he was diagnosed with colon cancer, which was a huge scare for all of us after what happened with Whitney. But they caught it early enough that it could be treated, and he’s now in remission and doing great.”

Relief etched her features. “I’m so glad to hear that.”

They went back to looking at the night sky, relaxing by the warmth of the fire. After a while, Georgia said, “So, what, exactly, is a constellation?”

Her interest in astronomy surprised him. “It’s a group of visible stars that form a perceived pattern or outline that typically represents an animal, mythological subject, or inanimate object.”

“Oh, like the Big or Little Dipper?” she asked thoughtfully, her eyes still cast up toward the stratosphere.

Her head rested on his chest, and he absently rubbed his cheek in her fragrant hair. “Actually, the Big Dipper is a grouping of stars within the constellation Ursa Major, which is also known as The Great Bear.”

“Show me where it is,” she said eagerly.

He directed her toward the Big Dipper, and once she found that pattern, he guided her along the line of stars that outlined the shape of a bear.

“Oh, my God, that’s amazing!” Her enthusiasm was genuine and infectious. “Show me another.”

Enjoying her interest and excitement, he pointed out Orion, which was identified by his “belt” of stars, and Centaurus, which outlined the shape of half man, half horse.

Georgia was completely enthralled, and as they were discussing the various other constellations, a streak of light shot across the sky.

She gasped and pointed toward the flash. “It’s a shooting star!”

He chuckled, not wanting to burst her bubble by explaining in more technical terms that it was actually tiny bits of dust and rock called meteoroids falling into the earth’s atmosphere and burning up. Instead, he indulged her wonder and amazement.

“It’s your birthday,” he whispered into her ear. “Close your eyes and make a wish.”

She did, and after a few silent moments, she blinked her lashes open, then turned around in his arms, smiling up at him. “I—”

“Don’t tell me your wish,” he said, placing his finger over her parted lips.

He wasn’t sure if he was more afraid to hear her deepest desire or if he believed it wouldn’t come true if she divulged it, and realized it was the former. He didn’t want to listen to her hopes and dreams in case it was something he wished for too, but knew he’d never be able to give her.

“I won’t,” she said, as he removed his finger. “I just wanted to say that there’s one last thing I want for my birthday.”

In that moment, he’d literally give her almost anything her heart desired. “And what’s that?”

“You,” she said simply, her voice lowering to a sultrier pitch. “Meet me in the bedroom in five minutes.”

He wasn’t about to say no when he didn’t want the night to end. Didn’t want reality and the outside world to intrude on their perfect bubble.

He helped her up, and when she disappeared into the cabin, he gave her the time she requested while he extinguished the fire pit, then cleaned up the remnants of their s’mores and put the leftover items in the kitchen.

When he finally walked into the bedroom a short while later, his heart slammed in his chest, and his mouth went bone dry at what he found waiting for him…Georgia, kneeling on the bed wearing the red lacy lingerie her sister had given her. The sheer cups barely contained her voluptuous breasts, and the front of the babydoll draped open to tempt and tease him with flashes of pale, smooth skin and the flimsy panties she wore.

With her wavy blonde hair loose and cascading around her shoulders, she looked like a gorgeous vixen. There was no way he could resist her.

He glanced around. Also, set out on the comforter were the items he’d gotten a glimpse of yesterday. A silk blindfold mask, fur-lined handcuffs, and a feather tickler.

When he lifted his gaze back up to her face, he liked what he saw. A woman confident in what she desired. A bad girl who didn’t want safe, vanilla sex. An impulsive, daring minx who was beyond ready to take a walk on the wild side with him. And if he’d had something to do with the changes, all the better.

“What do you want, Georgia?” he murmured, slowly moving toward the bed, his cock already straining the front of his jeans.

Her lips parted, and her blue eyes darkened to a deep velvet. “I want you to corrupt me,” she said breathlessly, repeating back what he’d told her this morning about how he’d enjoy showing her the more wicked side to sex.
