Her entire body warmed at the thought. She was going to enjoy it as well, even if it meant that no other man would ever measure up after her weekend with Drew.

“So, what’s the plan for today?” she asked, once they finished their breakfast and the dishes were done.

He ran a finger down the slope of her nose and grinned. “I’m going to test just how daring you can be.”

She bit her bottom lip as she followed him out to the car and got into the passenger seat. “I can’t decide if that sounds exciting, or ominous.”

“Definitely exciting,” he said, without giving her a clue as to what he intended. “A complete adrenaline rush that will stimulate you from your head to your toes.”

She could think of only one thing that would feel that good. “More orgasms?” she quipped playfully.

His smirk was slow and sexy as he started the vehicle. “I’ll reward you with as many orgasms as you like later, if you accept the challenge.”

She frowned at him. “You’re being so cryptic.”

He shrugged. “I don’t want to spoil the surprise.”

The challenge, she discovered a short while later when they reached their destination at Hunter Mountain, was being strapped into a harness, stepping off a platform, and sliding along a cable sixty feet above the forest floor. Holy shit.

She stared up at the zipline attraction in trepidation, her heart beating wildly in her chest. “I…I don’t think I can do this.” She heard the quiver of fear in her voice.

Drew came up behind her and slid his arms around her waist, holding her tight to his chest. “I know you can,” he said confidently, his lips near her ear. “If you really don’t want to do it, I’m not going to force you, but I can promise if you give it a try, you won’t regret it. Once that initial panic wears off and you’re soaring in the air, it’s fucking exhilarating. Trust me.”

She closed her eyes for a moment. Out of everything he’d just said, it was those last two words that gave her the courage to take this chance. Trusting and believing Drew was easy and automatic. He was pushing her boundaries, broadening her horizons, and as much as this extreme adventure terrified her, she also wanted to conquer her fears. She wanted to be impulsive, a little reckless, and a lot fearless. All the things she’d never allowed herself to be in the past.

“Come on, sweetheart,” he encouraged gently. “You got this.”

She swallowed hard and nodded her agreement, then let him lead her all the way up the tower to the platform, where they could head down the ziplines side by side. They were both strapped into a secure harness, given helmets and gloves to wear, then clipped to the trolley. The guide gave them the safety spiel, and then it was go time.

Beside her on the far end of the platform, Drew gave her a grin and a thumbs-up sign. She treated him to a faint smile in return as he waited for her to go first. Her knees shook, her stomach flip-flopped, and a quick glance down shot terror through her veins.

Refusing to back out now, she sucked in a breath and leaped off the platform, squeezing her eyes shut and screaming at the top of her lungs. She initially plummeted, then seemed to stabilize as she held on for dear life.

“Open your eyes!” she heard Drew shout.

She wanted to please him. Wanted him to be proud of her. She squinted her eyes open, looking ahead for a moment as the wind blew against her face and through her hair. She glided over the trees beneath her and found herself distracted and mesmerized by the breathtaking view of the forest and mountains and streams below. Her anxiety diminished as a shocking thrill swept through her, and by the end of the ride, she was grinning and filled with pure exhilaration.

Once they were both on the ground and unharnessed, Georgia ran to Drew and jumped into his arms. He gave her a hug and spun her around as she laughed happily, feeling more alive than she could ever remember.

“Oh, my God, that was awesome!” she said, when he finally released her. “Let’s do it again!”

He grinned and chucked her under her chin. “That’s my girl.”

My girl. Georgia shivered at his praise and tried not to read too much into those intimate, possessive words.

Hand in hand, they made their way back up to the start of the zipline and went for another ride, this time with Georgia thoroughly enjoying the sensation of flying in the air and the spectacular views. Then they spent the afternoon at Mid-Mountain, exploring the rope bridges and aerial tree platforms, and ate lunch at a local microbrewery before taking a short hike at Kaaterskill Falls.
