“We don’t have time to get your guns.” I handed Quin the helmet. “Put this on and run out the back. Devin will be there to ride you away.”

Quin zipped it up. “Why the fuck am I going to do that?”

“We don’t know if he followed Devin here or not.”

“So, I put the helmet on and he thinks it’s you or something?”

“Yeah. When he realizes it isn’t, we’re good.” I checked my watch. “Hurry.”

Quin rushed out of the stall. “We’ll drive Cain out of the way and give you a head start to leave. Then, I’ll do the reveal.”

“Cool. No shooting or anything. Ride safely. No tricks—”

“Huh? We’ve got to do a few tricks, Nix.”

“Come on, Quin. I don’t want any of this to blow back on Devin or you—”

“I taught Devin some of my best moves. This can be his driving test—”

“Hell no.”

We left VIP.

Quin took out her phone and checked the screen. “Fuck. Mimi has been calling.”

I frowned. “I finally like Mimi and now you’re going to fuck it up?”

“I told Mimi when I made her my girl that she would never be the only one.” Quin tucked the phone in. “She’ll be okay.”

“Come on, Quin. You love Mimi. Give her all of you.”

“Fuck that. Love doesn’t mean ownership. It means I’ll kill over her. I’ll take care and protect her.” Quin turned the corner into the hallway leading to the back exit. “I would give her my last bit of food and starve. I’d give her my last supply of oxygen and die. Shit. I would give her my organs if she needed them.”

“But what you won’t do is stop having these bitches rub their titties and pussies all over your face.”

“Exactly. You get me, Nix.” Quin tucked the jacket collar up. “Love is supposed to be free, not binding. And I love big titties.”

“Mimi is the best thing in your life, Quin. If you hurt her, you could lose—”

“Naw, Nix.” Quin stopped and looked at me. “You are the best thing in my life. And you know it’s not on some trying to fuck you shit because you don’t have big titties.”

I rolled my eyes.

Quin touched her chest. “My love for you is about the heart.”

“And where does Mimi fall in your ranking of love.”

“Oh. Mimi is a strong third.”

“What? Who’s your second?”

“Devin.” She shrugged. “He’s growing on me.”

“Me too. Which is why I want you to be careful. Devin and you should not do any tricks or engage Cain and his brothers in anyway.”

Quin let out an exasperated breath.

“Drive five minutes away, stop at a gas station, and take off the helmet. Cain should give up and head back to the club, but I’ll be gone. That’s it.”

“No way.” Quin rolled her eyes and increased her pace. “I want to add my own sauce.”

“Cain is no one to fuck with. Neither are his brothers.”

“Fuck those white boys.”

“He’s psycho. Quin, I’m lucky to be alive. Let’s not push this.”

She frowned. “We meet at your spot?”

“Yeah.” I hurried after her. “I’ll have your guns there.”

“If he follows Devin and me, I’m going to handle him.”

“Quin, if he follows, stick to the damn plan, and then meet me at my place.”

Quin rushed off to the side exit.

I headed to the dressing room to quickly change out of the gown.

The Chase

n the two-lane road, everyone waited at the red light. The kid and Phoenix were three cars in front of me and both wearing helmets. West was on the left. Griff was on the right. Other cars surrounded us. A blue minivan, two white sedans, and a diesel truck with a beer logo on the side.

She knew I was near the club and probably in front. That’s why she ran out of the side exit. Very smart.

Griff’s voice hit my ear. “Does she know we’re following her?”

I tapped the steering wheel. “I’m not sure.”

West came on. “Until she shows a sign of knowing, let’s keep a relaxed speed.”

Griff spoke, “Or maybe we should take her here while the light is red.”

“Too risky.” I shook my head. “I’ll let you know when we should grab her.”

The red light turned green.

The kid and Phoenix rode off calmly cruising with the traffic.

I remained behind them, so close it was barely three or four feet. For now we moved with the flow of the traffic, weaving around cars, passing here and there. Nothing out of the ordinary.

We headed forward.

Phoenix glanced back, but I couldn’t see her expression due to the helmet.

She’s searching for me.

West’s voice grew nervous. “She knows our truck, Cain. You’re too close.”

“Fine. I’ll back up.” Gritting my teeth, I slowed and let a taxi get in front of me. “Don’t lose her.”

“I’ll get closer.” Griff slipped into their lane and got directly behind them.

We approached another red light.

Everyone stopped.

Phoenix glanced over her shoulder.
