His second ‘good morning’ already, poking my ribs as he pulls me closer to him, covering my mouth with his.

Making me forget all about the money and focus on what really matters.

The two of us, home for the first time.

I thought Silverthorne Estate was like his business name or something, which I think it is. But there’s actually this huge old mansion upstate that he’s rebuilt.

It’s as big as a museum and feels a bit like one in parts.

But the main area of the house is where Ethan hangs out, and it’s my home now, too, Ethan keeps telling me.

I had a quick guided tour last night, with the promise that today could be spent exploring the old and new of the place if I want to.

And every time I start to pinch myself or worry about the problems I had before I met Ethan, all he has to do is grab hold of me like this, and I remember.

I remember what matters most to both of us from now on.

“While you were sleeping yesterday, I got the full story,” Ethan finally tells me in between taking playful bites out of all the parts of me he can reach.

“Levenson was blackmailing my accountant. Using money Vince owed him as leverage to make sure he’d get me to invest in his casino. And by invest, I guess Levenson just meant to take it for himself,” Ethan explains. “If Vince came to me, I might have been able to help him. But with Levenson’s casinos being his only other client, well. I guess Vince had to make a choice, and he made the wrong one.”

I go quiet, and Ethan squeezes his thick arousal against me, making sure I’m still paying attention to what matters.

“So… Is that a normal day in the life for you, Ethan?” I ask, almost dreading the answer. But he only chuckles at my question.

“Uhhh. No. It’s not a regular day in the life,” he smiles, making a face. “And if it wasn’t for you being there, if I hadn’t met you…I don’t know if I would’ve handled it all half as well as I did.”

I feel myself blushing, studying the floor, knowing exactly where I’d still be if it weren’t for meeting Ethan.

“You done eating breakfast?” Ethan asks, and I look up, noticing the grin he’s sporting.

“What did you have in mind?” I ask, giggling as he keeps flexing his stiff, hot length against me.

“We could go check out the vault?” he suggests that he still has to put the money I won down there anyway.

“And what about this?” I ask, putting on a mock accusing tone, resting my hand on his arousal, which twitches through his track pants.

“Oh, you’d better get used to that if you keep walking around with hardly anything on, sitting on my lap every five minutes,” he replies.

I almost think he’s serious, but he murmurs in my ear that he’d prefer me naked all day, barefoot and pregnant, but he knows I’m a little too shy for that just yet.

“It’s just what you do to me, Krissy. It doesn’t mean we have to… You know. It doesn’t mean we always have to…,” he trails off.

“I know,” I chirp. “But I think it’s a good idea if I keep my robe on for now. And do you really have a vault?” I ask, feeling my eyes widen and my jaw slacken when he grunts in the positive.

“There’s a big old wine cellar too, and a library. I think you’ll like it here,” he muses, suddenly clapping one of his huge hands up my thigh, making me squeak and wriggle as I pretend I want to escape his amazing hands.

If I let him have his way all the time, I’ll never see any part of the house… err… estate, I mean, that isn’t a view from me on my back.

“There’s something down there I wanna show you anyway,” he says ominously.

Like he has a deep, dark family secret down there or something.

Me, I wouldn’t mind seeing that much cash. And I don’t care what he does with it. It’s Ethan’s money, not mine.

I just wanna see it. And yeah. I guess a part of me wants to send Denise a picture, telling her I quit.

But I think the casino has bigger things to worry about now instead of who's going to fill in for Krissy Reynolds’ shifts.

I’m sure glad I filled in for my last shift, though.

Now’s probably not the time to mention it to him, but I secretly thank Saul Levenson and even Ethan’s crooked accountant.

If it wasn’t for any of them, we might never have met. And even though it’s only been one day, even trying to think of one day without him is impossible now.

I love him so much. And then it hits me.
