“No, no, Hawk, please. Nikki is not like me. She is not like anyone. She doesn’t know this is just a game to you, that you’re having fun, and when you’re done, you’ll pass her around. It will kill her.”

Hawk smirked. “Do you think you can play the loving friend right now? I know you’re jealous of her, Diana. I know you intend to hurt her. I got the letter.”

“Letter?” Diana asked.

“Don’t play dumb. There are only a couple of people who know I’m seeing Nikki. One of them is you. The others don’t give a shit who I see.”

“I don’t care who you see. Nikki is not like us.”

“Well, you’re not going to be any more trouble anyway.”

Melanie stepped into the room, along with a couple of other women. This was not Hawk’s place to criticize.

“Now, what is it going to be, Diana?” Hawk asked.

“I’ll leave her alone,” Diana said.

“Not good enough.” He nodded toward Melanie who took the first swing.

Diana’s scream rang out. Another slap, and Diana was sobbing.

“Fine. Fine. I’ll leave. I swear.”

Melanie grabbed her hair, tugging at it. Hawk stepped closer as Melanie dragged her across the room, not caring about the broken glass as she did so.

“You’ll do what?”

“I’ll leave. I’ll get out of town, and Nikki will never see or hear from me again.”

Hawk smiled. “Good. That is all you had to do.” He stood up. “Ladies, thank you for helping me deal with this trash. Leave.”

He waited for each woman to step out of the house.

Then, he grabbed Diana around the neck. “I want you to understand that if I see you or hear that you’re back in town, I won’t be bringing the women to give you a warning. I will fucking kill you myself, and I’ve got no problem hurting a woman, especially one who hurts what is mine.” With that, he threw her away from him.

He stepped out of Diana’s house, into the warm summer air. It was nice and warm now, but it wouldn’t be long before the cold nights started to fight back. It was already getting colder. He felt the change in the air. Hawk fucking hated winter. It was always a hard time for business, especially the runs the club had to do. The men always got even grumpier, as they hated camping out in the cold.

Pulling out his cell phone, he sent Nikki a text to meet him at her car for lunch. She never parked near the salon, and he’d learned to park his bike and wait for her.

This morning, he’d fucked her until she had screamed his name. He had five days to make up for, and he intended to fuck Nikki right out of his system.

Diana was wrong. When he had his fill of Nikki, he wasn’t going to pass her around the club. She was not part of the club and never would be. He knew how different she was. It was why she was so refreshing. He didn’t have to worry when his back was turned. Other women at the club loved having the men’s attention. Nikki was different. He’d known that about her when she stumbled into his library.

Melanie was still standing outside as he moved toward his bike.

“I thought you wanted us to hurt her a little more,” Melanie said.

“No, I wanted you to scare her and you did your job.” He nodded at her.

“Well, I’m heading back to the clubhouse. I don’t suppose I’ll see you there?” Melanie asked.

“I’ve got some business to take care of.” With that, he climbed onto his bike, turned over the ignition, and brought an end to their conversation.

Melanie had done her job, and if she was looking for praise or hoping for something more, there were plenty of guys back at the clubhouse she could enjoy.

He took off, heading toward the beauty salon, but the moment he entered the town, he took a detour, parking his bike behind an old power shed. From there, he walked to where Nikki parked her car in the corner of the parking lot. Most times it was abandoned, far from a few cars. In the winter, he wasn’t going to allow her to park so far away from the salon. It would be too dangerous, and seeing as he hadn’t staked a claim on her, she was at risk and he didn’t want her hurt.

He didn’t have to wait long to see Nikki walking across the parking lot. She had a wrapped brown package and a big smile on her lips, which he knew was for him alone. She sped up, and the moment she was close, she tried to throw her arms around him. This time, he let her, but he couldn’t be too careful, and he spun her around, looking at the parking lot.
