Owen’s laughter fills the stretching room as he rolls his back out. “In my defense, my wife only has to look at me and I’m telling her my darkest secrets.”

I side-eye him. “She couldn’t have known anything about what happened.”

He meets my gaze. “No, but she knew something was up with you. She was worried and said she tried to ask you about it, but you blew her off.”

That’s nice and all, but damn!

“Still, she told everyone,” I remind him, and he winces. I’m not sure if it’s from the spot he hit with his foam roller or knowing I’m upset about his big fucking mouth.

“Yeah. I didn’t know she’d do that.”

“No? ’Cause they don’t all love gossip?”

He sends me an apologetic look. “I’m sorry, man.”

I switch to my other hip. “It’s fine. I love when my friends think I’m weak and pathetic.”

Owen’s blue eyes darken. “No one thinks that.”

“Bro, I think it,” I admit, exhaling hard as I move up and down the foam roller, loving the pain. “I didn’t take Jean back to my place. I took her home and didn’t even kiss her.”

“Because she might have slapped you?”

I snort. “I still would have tried. We had a good time, but it just wasn’t what I wanted.”

“Who you wanted,” he corrects, and I cut him a dark look. “Just saying.”

I don’t want to tell him he’s right, so I don’t say anything as I continue to stretch.

“Maybe you should just go see her.”

I scoff at that. “So she can reject me to my face?”

“But then you’d have closure, ya know?” he says, and I look over at him. “Listen, if I had the best sex of my life and was still thinking of someone three months after the fact, even when there is no contact whatsoever, I would be searching the ends of the earth for her. Thankfully, I just gotta go into the plant room, and Angie’s there.”

I want to gag. “Well, not everyone has the power of plants to keep a girl in his house,” I throw at him, and he laughs.

“It’s more than the plants, believe me,” he says with a wink, and I chuckle at that. “Really, man, I think you should find out where in Virginia she is, and let’s roll up on her. I’ll go with you.”

My ride-or-die, right here.

“I know where she is,” I answer, sighing deeply. “I found her Instagram.”

He perks up like a dog when you ask if they want a treat. “Oh? And?”

I shrug. “And, what? She’s somewhere near a college, working for CapitalCare, and it looks as if she is seeing someone.”

He brings in his brows and hisses out a breath. “Damn, dude. I’m sorry.”

“It is what it is,” I say, swallowing past the lump in my throat. In the photo of them at the Cavaliers stadium, with the caption, Go Hoos, which doesn’t make a damn bit of sense, the guy was holding Tennessee tighter than she was him. But fuck if she wasn’t gorgeous as all hell. Just how I remembered her. Though, she has lost a bit of weight, much to my dismay.

“When did she post that?”

“I just found her account last night,” I admit, and he gives me a look. “Yes, at the party. I finally found it. I don’t know why, but I just kept clicking every fucking Tennessee account. Then I switched to searching for Tennie, and that’s when I found it under The Only Ten You’ll See.” I say, feeling stupid as fuck since that’s what she put in as her contact.

“That’s funny,” he says, moving the roller down to his calf. “How old was the photo? Maybe she isn’t involved with him anymore.”

I don’t answer him. Instead, I slide my phone over to him. “It’s up.”

“Jesus, you’re crazy.”

“I know. Thanks,” I say dryly. “I just don’t know… I feel like closure would be great, but I’m not sure if it’ll help. I think I’ll just need some fucking time. I feel stupid.”

He gives me an understanding look as he sits cross-legged on the floor, looking through her profile. “She posted that two weeks ago. And if you click on him, he hasn’t posted anything about her.”

I almost fall off the roller trying to get to him. “You found him?”

Owen nods. “Yeah, look,” he says, showing me where TroyTheScanMan commented with a heart. “She works with him.”

That piques my interest. “Think they aren’t dating?”

“I don’t know. He did put a heart. Hold on,” he says, and then he grabs his phone. Soon, Angie is on FaceTime. “Hey, baby.”

“Hey. Aren’t you supposed to be busy all afternoon and not calling your wife?”

“I am never busy enough not to call my girl, but I need you to do some Instagram digging.”

“Sure,” she says, and then she smiles at me. “Hey, dude of honor.”
