“Of course you can. But Daddy has a soft play shirt for you folded in the crib.”

“Crib?” she repeated.

“Little ones need a place to nap,” he said with a gentle smile as he continued to remove her last bit of clothing.

“I’m not a baby,” she protested weakly.

“In here, you can be anything you desire to be.”

“And anything you wish me to be?” She had to make sure he wanted her to need this kind of care.

“Yes, Little one. I asked you to call me Daddy for a reason. I need to take care of my mate as more than just a lover. We both have deeper desires than just sex—as delightful as that is.”

Drake pulled her back against him and ran his hands over her breasts and her belly. Brushing his fingers over her bare mound, he teased the sensitive skin. “Never doubt that I am delighted and attracted by your adult body and your Little side. I love all of you, Aurora.”

Tears burst from her eyes as the emotions overwhelmed her. Drake scooped her out of her clothing and into his arms, leaving even the slippers behind. He caught the tiara that started to fall and laid it on the table. Carrying her to the rocking chair, he sat down with her on his lap and slowly pushed with his feet.

“Little one. Can you tell Daddy what’s wrong?”

She shook her head, unable to get the words out. She squeezed her eyes closed as she battled herself. Could she show him all of her? Would he really love all her secret needs and desires?

“That’s okay. You can tell me when you’re ready.”

Drake brushed her hair away from her face before gently wiping the tears from her face. He kissed her softly before leaning back in the chair. Aurora blinked her eyes open to stare at him as Drake sang a hauntingly beautiful song.

She couldn’t understand a word he said, or even figure out what language it was in. The sounds were completely foreign, but familiar—like the music that played in a spring thunderstorm or a quiet, windy day. As she listened, her heart stopped its fearful racing and all her worries seemed to evaporate. She rested against his chest, wrapped in his strong arms, feeling more at ease than she ever remembered being.

After the last note whispered into the room, she stayed quiet for a few seconds. When she could think again, Aurora whispered, “That was beautiful. I couldn’t understand anything… But I felt it all.”

“That is the dragon’s mate song. I have waited to sing it to you until you trusted me completely.”

“I do now,” she said and knew it was true. Drake was everything to her—mate and Daddy.

“Want to go get Firefly and then select a story to read together before bed, Little one?”

“Yes, please.”

She squirmed off Drake’s lap and ran across the hall to their bedroom to retrieve her stuffie from their bed. Her nakedness wasn’t important now. She could feel his desire as he watched her bottom jiggle and knew he’d enjoy her return just as much. Returning with Firefly pressed against her tummy, Aurora hesitated by the bookshelf, unsure what to grab.

“The pink one is my favorite,” he shared.

Aurora found the slim pink book spine and pulled it out. “My Favorite Dragon,” she read. On the front were cartoonish fierce but adorable beasts of all colors. Climbing back up on her Daddy’s lap, she snuggled close to his warmth and handed him the book. She had no doubt which one would be her favorite.

Chapter 16

After a delightful weekend with her Daddy, everything had started so well on Monday morning. Unfortunately, it soon deteriorated as she worked. Checking the time, Aurora was pleased to log out of Drake, Inc. for the evening. She now felt at home with her team and boss after working with them on this project. She normally was reluctant to stop working but today was different.

Aurora closed down her computer and rested her forehead against her desk. She hadn’t slept well last night. Nightmares had woken her up several times and she could feel something. Almost a threatening presence.

“Little one. What is wrong?”

“I don’t know, Daddy. I’m probably just being silly,” she explained as she sat back up.

Drake sat on the edge of her desk and cupped her jaw in his hand. He studied her for several seconds before saying, “There is something you aren’t telling me, Aurora. Does this have anything to do with your bad dreams last night? Are you worried about something?”

“No. Not really.”

“You’ve been here for a couple of weeks now. Is there something you’re missing from your home? Trouble at work?”

“No. Really everything is great. I love being here with you. I’m happier than I’ve been in as long as I can remember. The job is great, and I feel like I’m helping the team.”
