They also had an inside joke about wax play.
How much talkin’ had they done?
Then Lucian changed the topic to one I strongly opposed. Apparently, he and Daddy had talked on the way to the cabin just now, and they’d agreed that it was important we paced ourselves. So tonight, Cameron and I were going to share one of the two queen beds upstairs, and Daddy and Lucian would share the other.
That was madness!
First of all, they should throw out both beds and replace them with a huge bed we could all share. Second of all, it was madness!
“Do we get a vote on this?” Cameron asked, biting his thumbnail.
“No. Subbies and Littles don’t get to vote,” Daddy replied with a smile.
“You don’t get to disobey us on this either,” Lucian said. “We don’t want any sneaking around tonight. No bratting, no trying to be cute.”
“Sir, we don’t try. We succeed.” I jutted my chin.
“That’s half the problem,” he told me. “KC and I fully admit we can be like kids in a candy store, and you two are the new sweets.”
“See how patient I was out on the porch earlier,” Daddy murmured. “I don’t want to ruin my second chance, sweetheart.”
Then Cameron said something brilliant. “But Noa and I are like the healthy snacks you need to eat lots of! We won’t give you stomachaches, and we’re not bad for your teeth.”
“What he said!” I agreed.
Unfortunately, Doms had rebuttals for everything, and Lucian didn’t miss a beat. “Your stomach gets upset when you go from a poor diet to a good one, too. I’m coming from a bad relationship with someone else, and KC’s coming from a bad relationship with himself. We don’t want to bring any bad habits along for this next journey. You boys are already too important for that.”
Well. I wasn’t happy. Lucian made sense, and that just blew.
“Shit,” Cameron mumbled.
“What he said,” I muttered.
CHAPTER 7
Noa Hayles
“Do you think KC and Lucian fuck?” I asked curiously.
“It’d be a waste if they didn’t.”
We got off at our station and followed the herd toward the exit, and I had to hold my gift bag for Lucian close to me. People didn’t freaking care as long as they got out first.
“But I don’t know,” Cameron said pensively. “They could very well just be really close friends. KC doesn’t have any family, and Lucian only has a grandmother and a couple aunts and uncles. He told me he attends a single family event every year—Thanksgiving—and he brings KC along.”
“Just how much did you guys talk last weekend?” I grinned.
He smiled, looking every bit the lovesick schmuck that he was. “We had snacks and chatted after our wax play scene the other day, and we’ve been texting a lot too.” He nudged me. “What about you and KC? It’s like everything went from zero to sixty this weekend, and now we’re dealing with the aftermath.”
I wouldn’t call it aftermath. “What’re you talking about? This is the beginning!”
“I know—you know what I mean,” he chuckled.
“KC and I have been texting a lot too, but we already know so much about each other,” I said. “We sorta mix flirting with filling in the gaps of the time we’ve missed out on. He’s been asking about my internship, if I’m still playing the drums…stuff like that. But I’m not entirely certain he wants me. He hasn’t sent a single dick pic.”
Cameron let out a loud laugh.
I snickered. I was kind of funny.
Crossing the street, we aimed for the “nice grocery store,” where he wanted to pick up the ingredients for Lucian’s birthday dinner tonight.
“The flirting is important to me, though,” I said. “I’m a little scared sometimes that he’ll slip back into stepdad mode. That part of him is still there—which is easily confused with the Daddy aspects of him. I don’t know. I could be paranoid.”
“No, but I get it. Your Little nature came out back then too—like you told him—as unexplored as it was for you at the time. Just like his Daddy nature was there.”
True. Now with attraction—and accepting the attraction—we had a new dynamic to discover together. Plus old feelings and new feelings.
“You’re mad about not getting a dick pic…” He rolled his eyes. “I haven’t even gotten laid! He wouldn’t so much as let me suck him off. I don’t know what he’s waiting for. We’ve had the safety talk.”
Poor guy.
I grabbed a cart as we entered the store, and Cameron pointed to the produce section first.
“What’re you making?” I wondered. “Blue balls?”
“Funny. I asked KC what Lucian liked,” he admitted. “Let’s just say he’s got expensive taste. I can’t afford to make him a roasted duck or rack of lamb right now, and I swear KC almost got irritated with me. ‘The man won’t go a week without pizza, and he’ll light up like a Christmas tree if you put a plate of waffles in front of him.’” His impression of Daddy was hilarious. “Anyway. KC mentioned Lucian likes Vietnamese and Indonesian food too, so I’m gonna use the chicken we already have at home to make skewers—I’m thinking some glaze and sesame for that—and vegetable stir-fry… Shit. I forgot to ask if he prefers rice or noodles. Or, you know what? I’ll make both. We can use the tapas serving bowls your mom gave us for Christmas.”
