"Dapper. It suits you." His fingers brush my neck as he adjusts the collar. He looks down at me like he's going to kiss me.
Then he does.
His eyes flutter closed and his lips find mine.
He kisses me like he's claiming me.
This time, I'm pretty sure he is.
So when I pull back, I look up at him, and I say, "It's later."
"It is."
"My apartment is close."
"My hotel room is closer."
Chapter Twenty-Five
Sienna
Is it possible to die from desire?
The female equivalent of blue balls, maybe.
Technically, it's only three blocks to Cam's hotel room. They're short blocks, without lights. There's no reason why this walk should feel a million miles long.
But with his palm on my lower back, only the thin fabric of my dress between his hand on my skin, it does.
Finally, we arrive. From the outside, the hotel resembles the one we left. Steel, glass, grey adornments, tall windows glowing with soft yellow lights.
But it's not any other building.
It's Cam's hotel.
It's the place where he's going to fuck me.
He hasn't promised that. He's very explicitly not promised.
But he…
I…
Fuck.
He pushes me a little harder. Not enough to hurt or force or even move me in one direction. Only enough to say I have you.
He does.
I'm not sure he realizes how much he has me.
I'm not sure I can accept how much he has me.
This isn't smart. Not given the circumstance. Not given who he is.
A man eleven years my senior, with the power to crush me, physically, practically, emotionally.
He's more or less promised he'll leave me in ruins.
And, of course, I took that as a challenge.
Am I stupid, reckless, brave?
I'm not sure I care. My judgment is on vacation. Dulled by the potent mix of alcohol and desire.
Let's face it. I'm not all that cautious at the best of times. I rush into things. But not with men. Never with men.
Something always stops me.
I haven't been with anyone, really.
Until Cam.
And he—
Fuck, I'm in so far over my head it's not even funny.
And I still don't care.
Cam leads me through the hotel's luxe lobby. It's old money trying to look modern. Marble floors, gold accents, sleek leather couches that stand out like sore thumbs.
It's not Cam. He enjoys the finer things—I don't know wine, but I've seen the price of his bottles on the bill—but he's like me. New to this.
Not as new—he's worked with Ty and Ian for most of his adult life—but new enough. He grew up middle class. Both his parents worked. They still do.
But that's all I know about them. A father in the military. A mother with a nursing degree. And I only know that because Ty's mentioned it.
I don't know about his friends or his apartment or his life in London.
I don't know how he'll tell this story.
You won't believe the night I had with this virgin.
Or I felt every fucking piece of her pouring into every fucking piece of me.
No. That isn't him. It's not even me. It must be some of Indie's influence. Or even Eve's. I don't have a poetic bone in my body.
Neither of us do.
And this—
Fuck is all I have and it's still not enough.
Cam whisks me inside the open elevator, slides his key into the slot, pushes the button for his floor.
The penthouse. "Is that why you needed another hotel for the party?"
"There are four suites on the top floor."
"But you couldn't do this across the hall."
Something flares in his eyes. Some realization. Then it fades into that perfect, pure desire. "I couldn't do what?"
It's a dare and I'm going to answer it.
I sit on the safety bar and slide my dress up my thighs.
One inch.
Two.
Three.
Almost—
His eyes follow my hands. "Are you daring me, sweetness?"
Sweetness. Fuck, that sounds good on his lips. It's not a romantic pet name, not really, but that only makes me crave it more. "Yes."
He takes a step toward me. "You think I won't fuck you right here?"
"You won't."
His eyes flit to the display. We're halfway up the building. There isn't time for sex, but there's time to tease.
I pull my dress another inch. "We both know you won't."
"You're sure?"
I nod.
In one quick movement, he closes the distance between us. He brings his hand to my thigh. Pushes hard enough my leg hits the cold metal bar.
His other hand goes to my cheek. He tilts my head, bringing us eye to eye.
God, there's so much desire in his dark eyes. I can barely take it.
"You have no fucking idea what I'm capable of." Without warning, he presses his palm against me. "No fucking idea."
I wrap my legs around his hips.
He slips two fingers inside me. Pushes deep and hard. Hard enough it hurts. But fuck it hurts so good.
"Cam," I breathe.
"I am going to ruin you, Sienna." He pushes deeper.
Fuck. My eyes flutter closed. That's intense. Too intense. But somehow, still not enough.
