Every time I close my eyes, I see her gorgeous face. I see the way she was standing with her straight back and rigid shoulders. Her hair was pulled into a tight bun and she was trying to act as professional as she could.

I could tell that my being shirtless flustered her. I liked seeing that side of her. I want to see more of it.

I want to unravel that tight little angel with my tongue. I want to see that prim and proper side of her melt away, revealing the spunky sex kitten I know is hiding somewhere inside. She just needs a strong man who knows what he’s doing to bring it out of her and set that wild side free.

As soon as she left, I knew I’d be back at work today. I counted the minutes. It was the slowest goddamn day of my life.

I check my reflection in the mirror and then get out of my truck and head inside.

I’ve owned this lodge for five years.

I’m only thirty-six, so people are always wondering how I was able to pay for a multi-million dollar business at the age of thirty-one.

I’ll tell you. With cash. A lot of cash.

Straight out of college and in my early twenties, I headed to Wall Street.

I spent the next eight years working every waking hour and amassing a mountain of cash. By twenty-six, I had enough money to retire for the rest of my lifetime. By twenty-nine, I had enough for five lifetimes. And by thirty-one, I had enough to buy this gorgeous lodge, build my dream house in the mountains, and retire comfortably.

I left Manhattan and never looked back. The city wasn’t for me. I hated every minute of it. I was dreaming of Montana the entire time. Of the mountains, the trees, the silence, the lakes, rivers, animals, the stars. Just thinking of the rank city smell makes me nauseous. I much prefer the fresh nature smell out here.

Out here, I’m in my element. I fucking love it.

All I was missing was that perfect dream girl to go along with my dream life.

She arrived yesterday.

And now it’s time to get her.

“Hello, Mr. Wallis,” the doorman says as he opens the front door with a polite nod.

“How are you, Greg? Hey, is that new receptionist working today? Lauren?”

“She’s inside, sir.”

I grin as I walk in. “Perfect.”

The first thing I notice are the three contractors ripping up the burnt carpet behind the reception desk. New curtains are hanging on the window and I can tell that the frame has been replaced and painted.

My girl works fast. I like that.

You can hardly tell there was a fire at all.

I walk up to the desk, hoping to see Lauren’s radiant smile shining at me, but it’s just the twins—Tina and Tiffany.

“There was a fire,” Tina immediately says when she sees me.

“It was the new girl’s fault,” Tiffany adds, ratting her out.

“And where is the… new girl?” I ask as I look around. Everything else seems to be in order. A few guests are hanging out by the giant fireplace in the lobby, all of my employees are at their stations, and the lodge seems like it’s at capacity and full of satisfied guests.

“Lauren is in the storage room downstairs,” Tina says. “Are you going to fire her?”

Tiffany perks up. “Can we watch?”

I ignore them and head to the stairs that lead down to the storage room.

My heart pounds with every step I take, knowing she’s probably down here all alone. Our old copier is at the bottom of the stairs, but my sweet girl is nowhere to be found.

This basement is huge. It spans half of the lodge and we use it to store everything from extra mattresses, lamps, furniture, supplies, and everything that a giant resort like mine might need. Right now, I’m only looking for one thing…

I find my girl in the back, rifling through some paintings. She places one against the wall and steps back to examine it.

My feet stop moving. I’m frozen to the spot as I watch her put it back and pull out another one.

I never gave much thought to love at first sight, but it’s all I can think about now. I know she’s the one for me. She’s the only one I’ve ever wanted like this and I know that will never change.

I can feel my need for her coursing through me like the need to eat, the need to drink, the need to breathe.

She’s wearing a white blouse and a gray pencil skirt that hugs her long legs. God, she’s beautiful. Her hair is tied up in a tight bun and all I can think about is pulling out those pins and watching as that long brown hair falls free around her shoulders.

I want to be the one to loosen this girl up. I want to be the one to make her moan.
