Seeing me about to cry, King steps into my side and presses a kiss to my temple. “You need to have a birthday for us to buy you things now?”
“Definitely not,” I laugh, glancing back down at the knuckles. “but this one just feels … different.”
“That’s because it is,” Carver tells me, stepping into me and taking my hand, looking down at the array of diamonds covering my fingers. “We all love you, you know that,” he tells me. “But because of our … unique situation, we haven’t been able to give you the things that most girls want out of a relationship, and I know that even though you’ll never admit it, a wedding was always something you wanted for yourself.”
“But you know that I—”
“I know,” he says, cutting me off, his voice softening. “We know that you don’t want to commit to just one of us in marriage and then not be able to do the same for the others, and that’s fine, we get and respect that, and quite honestly, I don’t think I could hack it if you were to marry one of these other guys and not me.”
I laugh and a wide grin stretches over his face as Cruz moves in and takes my other hand. “We wanted you to get to experience those things so this is our version of telling you that we are completely committed to you. Each of us would marry you in a heartbeat, but just because we can’t doesn’t mean that you should miss out on all the perks.”
I laugh and glance down at my hand again. “Is this my version of an engagement ring?”
“It sure fucking is,” Grayson smirks. “Four fingers, each covered in diamonds to represent each of us. We had it made from titanium instead of gold because gold is weak and you deserve something that reflects who you are.”
My heart flutters with the amount of thought the boys have put into this, but then Carver goes and opens his mouth. “Besides, your favorite pair of brass knuckles are starting to look a bit ratty, so it was time.”
I roll my eyes and glance at Grayson as he goes on like Carver never even spoke a word. “We want to give you the world just as you’ve done for us,” he tells me. “You worked so hard getting your business off the ground with Karleigh, and over the past four years it’s flourished into something incredible. You’ve given your all to your shelters, but now it’s time to think about you.”
Joy overwhelms me and I lean into Cruz, loving the feel of his other hand resting against my lower back as his thumb trails over the back of my hand. “You guys are insane,” I tell them. “I just wish I had something as awesome to give back to you.”
“You give us you and that’s enough,” Cruz tells me.
“Fuck that,” King teases. “Speak for yourself. I want a fucking diamond ring if one is on offer, but if the option is out there, I wouldn’t mind a diamond-encrusted Rolex. Now that would be sweet.”
I roll my eyes and laugh. “Way to ruin a good moment,” I tell him.
“Uh-uh,” he says, grabbing me around the waist and lifting me right into his arms, stealing me away from the guys and walking out toward the shore. “There’s no such thing as ruining a moment when you’re on vacation,” he says as the guys follow behind.
“Maybe not,” I laugh as he walks straight down into the water. “But there’s certainly such a thing as making a moment even better while on vacation.”
“Oh yeah? And what’s that?” he grins, already knowing where my mind has taken me, but wanting me to say the words anyway.
I press my lips against him before pulling back and spying the guys just behind us, moving in even closer. “Well, I just think that we have all this wide-open space to ourselves and we haven’t fucked in a single part of it yet.”
“Well then,” he says as Carver moves in even closer, grabbing the soft string of my triangle bikini and giving it a gentle tug until it comes free. “I guess we better get started,” and just like that, he kisses me deeply as Cruz and Grayson move in, more than ready to show this island something it’s never seen before.
The early morning sun shines through to our villa and directly into my eyes as though it didn’t already know that I only went to sleep an hour ago. After all, we put on one hell of a show for the island, but something tells me that it hasn’t seen anything yet. We’re only just getting started. Hell, the only reason we had to stop last night was because of the chaffing I was getting from the sand creeping up between my lady bits, prompting a 5 am swim in the ocean. It was so much better than I could have imagined.
