He really would turn his ass a blistering red if he disobeyed him. The Fox forced himself to move calmly and carefully, even though he wanted to rush out and fucking incinerate whoever had made his girl scream like that.

Nobody touched his baby and lived to tell the story.

They were messing with the wrong Daddy.

He stepped up toward the claw machines where he was certain Autumn would have headed. Quickly, he brought his phone up to check the cameras. There were two cameras inside and one on each entrance. He’d hacked into them before coming here.

As far as he could tell there was no one outside. He moved to the ones monitoring the inside. There they were. Some asshole had his girl in his arms, trying to haul her toward the front door. But Autumn wasn’t making it easy for him. She was fighting back. Clawing at his arms and kicking back at him.

A sense of pride filled him. Who was this bastard? Was it someone who was after him so they’d taken his girl? But he would expect something more professional from anyone coming after him. This guy had not only given his girl time to scream, but he was taking a ridiculously long time to get her out of the arcade.

Could be a trap.

But he couldn’t see how when there was no one else around. Still, he moved cautiously forward. There was no way he could let this dipshit walk out of the building with his girl.

Not. Fucking. Happening.

“Stop fighting, you little bitch!” the guy said. “You’re coming with me and if those guys come back, then I’m going to fucking kill them. Understand?”

Autumn didn’t quit fighting, making him smile. She knew how ridiculous that dick’s threats were.

“You’re going to kill me?” The Fox stepped forward.

The idiot practically jumped into the air. Whoever he was, he definitely wasn’t in the Fox’s league.

Autumn continued to kick back at him. He let out a loud, pained yell.

“Fuck!” He drew his hand away from her. “You bitch! You bit me.”

The Fox had to fight the rage threatening to break free. He had to keep himself unemotional. Because if he allowed himself to feel then he might make a mistake. Anger and fear weren’t things he was allowed to feel right now.

Because when it came to his girl’s safety, a mistake wasn’t allowed.

So instead of reacting how he wanted, he forced himself to adopt a casual pose. Leaning against the machine next to him, he dug into his pocket and pulled out one of his small fox figurines.

Then he tossed it up into the air. Up. Down. Up. Down.

The guy watched, frowning as he tried to keep Autumn contained.

“Stay still, you bitch!” he yelled at Autumn.

Big mistake.

“I don’t know who the fuck you are!” he screamed at the Fox. “But stay back unless you want a bullet hole in your chest.”

The asshole pulled a gun from behind him.

Now . . . hadn’t this just gotten interesting? Maybe he wasn’t such an idiot. Well, he was, since he didn’t know who the Fox was.

“You don’t know who I am? That’s an oversight, isn’t it? Because you should always know who your enemy is.”

“Enemy?”

“Yes. Enemy. And you do not want me for your enemy. Although, it’s too late for you, since you just touched something that belongs to me.”

He didn’t dare glance at Autumn. He couldn’t take his attention off this idiot.

The guy laughed nervously. “Ah, in case you failed to see it, I’m the one with the gun.”

“You’re such a dumbass!” Autumn told him. “And you’re in trouble now.”

The last words were sung and they surprised him, because rather than sounding scared she just sounded angry. And a little smug.

“This is probably because of my allure. I thought I had it under control. But my Daddy is going to kick your ass, jerkface. Do you have any idea who he is?”

“Shut up! Or I’m going to start with putting a bullet in you.”

Fury unlike anything he’d felt in his life welled inside him as the bastard turned his gun toward his girl.

Threaten him all you like, but his baby was off-limits.

It was a hard fight to keep himself from exploding. From giving in to the rage threatening to pull him under and drown him.

A whimper escaped from Autumn and he risked a glance, spotting the way the asshole was holding her too tight. If she had a single bruise on her . . .

The Fox caught movement out of the corner of his eye and he spotted Brody coming toward them. With a gun held in his hand.

A fake gun. But the guy might not realize that from this far away. He must have stolen it from one of the games. What did he think he was doing? If the Fox thought pulling a gun would help, he’d have his out. But he didn’t like using a gun.
