“Did you just tell me no, baby girl?”

“Uh-huh. Snacks are boring. Unless it’s candy or chocolate. Can I have that?”

“No candy or chocolate. You’re going to have a snack and a nap.”

Her eyes grew wide and her lip trembled. “But, Daddy, I just want to play. Please.”

Oh, she was so naughty. Would the Fox cave?

“No more playing. But you are going to spend some time in the corner.” He took her hand and led her to the corner. “Nose against the wall. I want you to think about listening to Daddy and not arguing.”

Brody’s eyes widened. The Fox might just be better at this than he’d thought. Just what kind of book had he been reading?

“I’ll be back in ten minutes. No moving or you’ll be writing lines.”

Autumn stared at the wall.

“Brody?” she whispered.

“Yeah, Tutu? You okay?”

“I’m in the corner.”

“I know.”

“I’ve never been put in the corner before.”

“Well, I think you’re supposed to think about what you did.”

She fidgeted. “Was I really naughty? Is he mad at me?”

“Sweetie, no. He’s not angry at all.” Brody came closer, turning her face toward him. He kissed her lightly. “Remember, break the rules, get your butt heated.”

“What’s going on?” the Fox asked, walking in carrying her sippy cup and a plate with cheese, crackers, cut up carrots, and dips.

“Tutu was worried that she might have made you mad by being a little naughty.”

The Fox frowned and then set the food down on a small table. “Come here, Bunny.” He held out his arms and she rushed into them, immediately feeling better.

He rocked her back and forth. “I would never get mad at you. And no matter what, I’m not leaving. I’ve dreamed of bringing the two of you here, keeping you locked away, just mine.”

She wasn’t sure about the locked away part . . .

“I know I’m not easy to be with. But you can act out, get mad, be naughty. All that will mean is that you will spend time in the corner with a hot ass. Personally, I have no qualms with bending both of you over my knee when I need to.” He ran his thumb across her cheek. “You okay, baby girl?”

“Yes. Everything feels like a lot right now.”

“You’ve had a lot of change,” Brody said, coming up to hug her from behind. “And you’re tired.”

She leaned back against him, pressed between the two of them.

“Now, did you think about what you did while you were in the corner?” the Fox asked.

“Umm.”

“Back in the corner then. I’ll tell you when you can come out.”

Oh, drat.

“Do I have to, Daddy?”

“Yes.” He drew her out of Brody’s arms and turned her to the corner, giving her a smack on the ass to get her moving.

With a grumble, she walked to the corner.

Darn it. This was so boring. She started fidgeting.

“Stay still, baby girl.”

For some reason, she’d thought the Fox would be a lenient Daddy. She guessed she had been a bit naughty not listening to him.

And she was tired and probably had needed a break.

“Come here, Bunny.”

Turning, she raced and launched herself at him. He managed not to topple over like Brody probably would have. Climbing him, she wrapped herself around him.

“Sorry, Daddy. I was having so much fun, but I should have listened to you and not argued.”

“Good girl. You need to try and listen to Daddy. Sometimes, it might be important, okay?”

“Okay, Daddy.”

“Now, sit down for your snack. There’s water in your sippy cup, I want at last half of it gone. understand?”

“Okie-dokie, Daddy-pokie.” She slid down him and walked over to plonk herself in Brody’s lap where he sat at the table.

“Hey! He didn’t say to sit on me!”

“But you’re such a comfy seat, Brody-bear. Please?”

He huffed out a breath, but she could see him fighting a smile. “Okay. Only because you’re cute.”

“After your snack, it’s nap time.”

“But I’m a big girl.” She nibbled on a piece of cheese.

“You’re not that big.”

“Does Brody-bear have to have a nap?”

“Not unless he wants to.”

“I’m good,” Brody said hastily.

“Urgh, not fair.”

“Do you need some more time in the corner, baby girl?” the Fox asked.

“No. Nope. I’m good, Daddy.”

After she’d managed some water and a few pieces of cheese and crackers, along with a piece of carrot with lots of dip, the Fox took her into the nursery and dressed her in one of her onesies.

“Crib or bed?” he asked.

She gave the crib a longing look. Maybe not today, though.

“Bed, Daddy.”

He studied her, then nodded. “I’ll need to put the side up. I don’t want you to slide out.”

The side?

He helped her into bed, tucking her in tight. Thankfully, she’d already used the bathroom. And her period was far less painful today.

Then he slid some bars into place on the side of the bed.

“There, keeping you safe. Here’s your pacifier.”

She opened her mouth and he slid it inside.
