“I’ll take it that’s a yes?” he growls against my lips.
I nod, wiping at my tears.
“Yes. Yes! A thousand times yes, Morgan. I’d love to become Mrs. Aston.” Then, my handsome fiancé picks me up carefully and spins me around with a tiny whoop of excitement.
“Daddy, Daddy, what is it?” June calls as she comes scampering over, a bouquet of wildflowers in her hand. “What happened?” she asks in her childish lisp.
We stop to look at the little girl, and then I bend down to take the bouquet.
“Is this for me, honey? I was just wondering if you’d like me to be your mom for real. Meaning, you can call me “Mama” forever and ever if you want.”
June’s face beams with a smile as she throws her arms around me.
“Yes, Mama!” she cries with excitement. “Mama Nat Nat!”
With that, the three of us are joined in a circle of love as Morgan bends down to hug us both. After all, I was the handsome attorney’s babysitter once upon a time.
