She could’ve sat cross-legged. I sure as hell wouldn’t have minded.
I pulled out mini ham and cheese sandwiches on Hawaiian sweet rolls and handed her one. She hummed as she bit into it, her eyes closing. “I love these rolls.” She opened her eyes, looking at me. “How’d you know?”
“Chelsea,” I told her with a chuckle. “Apparently, they’re your go-to snack at work. Your best friend is very jealous of you being able to eat carbs and stay skinny, by the way.”
Cecily laughed, and the sound warmed my heart. “Chels is something else, I swear.”
I couldn’t disagree with her there. Chelsea was definitely unique.
After we finished eating, I dragged Cecily onto my lap, her panties pressed right against my zipper, her dress pooling around her hips. She sucked in a sharp breath, her blue eyes darkening a shade.
“We’re in the middle of the woods, Adler,” she whispered as if the wildlife could understand what I wanted to do to her. We’d barely seen each other this past week except extremely early in the mornings when she rolled through the door and crashed into bed with me. I’d taken to staying at her place most of the time. We didn’t like sleeping without each other anymore, and my place was further.
The only reason we didn’t last night was that I had to go home and get some cleaning done. And I’d been too tired to drive back to her place after.
“No one is going to come back here,” I assured her. “And the wildlife does not give two fucks about me making love to you.”
She sucked her bottom lip into her mouth, and with a growl, I pulled it out and kissed her, laying her back on the blanket. Her hands slid up the back of my shirt, and with a curse, I ripped my lips from hers and yanked my shirt over my head for her, tossing it aside. She sighed, her hands freely roaming now as I went back to kissing her, licking into her mouth, re-memorizing every bit of it and the taste of her.
Gripping the hem of her gray t-shirt dress, I pulled it over her head and then unzipped the front of her sports bra, letting it fall open and her breasts spring free.
She whimpered when I lowered my head and licked at both peaks before sucking one of her pebbled nipples into my mouth. I hiked her legs up and ground against her soaked, panty-covered core, driving her mad with need. The sounds she made were porn-worthy, and they clouded my mind, making me crazy for her.
“Adler, please,” she begged, her words breathless.
Leaning up on my knees, I pulled a condom from my pocket and unbuckled my belt before yanking my jeans down just enough to sheath myself inside the condom. She wiggled out of her panties, kicking them aside before unabashedly baring her pretty pink core to me.
“So wet,” I growled, staring at her glistening folds.
“Adler—” She choked on a cry of my name as I slid inside of her. Hooking my hands under her shoulders, I savagely drove up inside of her over and over, fucking her so hard, we both forgot our own damn names.
The only thing we knew in that moment was each other.
Seven
Adler
My eyes snapped in alarm when Cecily suddenly shot into an upright position, a scream ripping from her throat. I quickly sat up, my heart thumping hard in my chest with adrenaline. “Adler—” She turned to look at me and instantly crawled into my arms when I reached for her, wrapping her arms and legs tightly around me, sobbing into my neck.
“Sweetheart?” I rasped, my voice still husky with sleep. I gently rocked her side to side, squeezing my arms around her. “I’m here, sweetheart. I’m right here.” Smoothing my hand over her hair, I pressed my lips to her neck. “It’s okay.” I had no idea what the fuck she’d just dreamed about, but it had obviously scared the hell out of her.
She clung to me, her nails digging into the back of my neck. It hurt a bit, but I didn’t dare voice my discomfort. Something in her dream had freaked her the fuck out, and her tears were beginning to scare me. Cecily never broke down like this. She was always upbeat, even if she was arguing with me about something.
What the hell had scared her so damn badly?
When her tears finally began to slow and her breathing regulated again, I gently leaned her back. Reaching up, I swiped some tears from her cheeks, frowning at her, deeply concerned. Her face was red and splotchy, her eyes bloodshot.
“What happened, sweetheart?”
She sniffled and swiped at her eyes. “You fell off a ladder while working.” My eyes widened in alarm, and I quickly dragged her back to me, cuddling her close again. “The fall broke your neck, and—and—”
