“Get comfortable, bella. It would be nice if you held me,” I murmur.

Her fingers brush over my side, then she wraps her arm around me, settling her palm in the middle of my back.

“That’s better.”

She snuggles into my chest, making my smile widen.

She feels good in my arms. As if she was made for me.

“Armani,” she whispers.

“Yeah?”

“Is the job you’re going to do dangerous?”

Yes.

“No.” The lie slips easily over my lips. “It just involves a lot of traveling.”

She tilts her head back, and I see her eyes shining. “As long as you’re safe.”

That’s the last thing I’ll be, but I’m not about to tell her that. Instead, I close the distance between us and press my mouth against hers.

With every kiss, the possessiveness and protectiveness I feel for this woman keep multiplying inside me.

I can already tell I’m going to be a jealous husband.

Not wanting to risk losing control with her, I don’t deepen the kiss.

Trying to take my mind off my desire for her, I ask, “What dreams do you have?”

She snuggles against my chest again, and I can hear the smile in her voice as she answers, “I have three dreams. I’ve always wanted a home I can call my own, a husband I can love, and children I can give the world to.”

My arms tighten around her. “You’re missing something.”

“What?”

“A husband who loves you.”

She’s quiet for a moment, then replies, “Being a bratva princess, I’ve been taught not to expect that.”

A frown forms on my forehead. “What else have you been taught.”

“Basically, everything that’s needed to be a good wife.”

Yeah, I’m curious about what everything entails. I have a feeling I’m not going to like any of it.

Deciding to leave the conversation for when I get back from the job, I press a kiss to her hair and whisper, “Sweet dreams, bella.”

“You too.”

With her cheek pressed to my chest, I feel her breaths brush over my skin. I focus on the feel of her petite body until I drift off to sleep.

Chapter 19

Tiana

I wake up to Armani’s body lying half over mine, his face pressed into my neck, and his arms locked around me.

It’s still dark in the room. I wanted to get up early to make coffee and watch the city come to life with him, but I don’t dare move a muscle.

Not because I’m scared I’ll wake him but because I’m enjoying the moment. This is my first time waking up next to a man, that’s not my brother guarding me, and I love it.

If Armani’s holding me so tight in his sleep, it means he likes me, right? Maybe he will learn to love me and not just think of me as Misha’s little sister that he’s stuck with.

And he kissed me three times out of his own free will.

Did I overthink our arrangement and create worries that aren’t there?

Armani’s arms tighten around me, and his groin presses against the side of my thigh. All my thoughts come to a sudden halt when I feel his hardness. My heart sets off at a crazy pace, my eyes wide open.

Even though I know it’s a typical morning reaction for men, my body doesn’t seem to care. My abdomen clenches, and heat pools in my core.

My mind runs away with me, and I imagine Armani crawling over my body, and while he kisses me deeply, he makes love to me.

My cheeks flush, and my heart races faster. There’s a needy sensation between my legs.

Yeah, I don’t think consummating the marriage will be a problem. Not on my part, at least.

He stirs again, and letting out a soft groan, his hardness rubs against my thigh. He pulls an arm back, and his hand lands on my right breast.

Oh, Jesus.

Then he freaking squeezes my breast, and it sends a shockwave of tingles through my body. I gasp from how good it feels while fighting the urge to move.

With my breast firmly in the grip of his hand, I start to tremble, wishing he would squeeze or rub me again.

Instead of getting my wish, his hand travels down to my stomach. I feel his breathing change against my neck and how his body tenses.

Closing my eyes, I pretend to be asleep, which is actually stupid because I’m pretty sure he can feel my racing pulse.

Armani doesn’t pull away from me but instead relaxes again. “Morning, bella.”

My voice sounds hoarse as I whisper, “Morning.”

“Did I grope you?”

The direct question has a blush forming on my face. “No.”

“Either I had one hell of a good dream, or you’re lying.”

Wanting to set him at ease, I say, “It’s okay if you touch me. We’re engaged.”

Armani lifts his head, his tousled hair looking dangerously hot first thing in the morning.

I can get used to waking up like this.

His eyes search my face, then the corner of his mouth lifts. “I’ll remember that next time.”
