And my life was not a dirty grown-up movie.

My life had started out as a political drama and was now inching toward a romance…and hopefully, it would be a slightly naughty one?

Fingers crossed it would be naughty.

“Alright, but just for a few minutes.” Austin said that very seriously, but we both knew playtime in the morning meant we were both going to be late to work.

Well, at least we both worked for ourselves?

****

“I have to…I mean…” Oh, this was so hard. Even after having a whole two days to think about it, nothing sounded right. “I need to ask you a question.”

I managed not to say Daddy but it’d been difficult, and I could see Daddy trying not to smile as I wiggled. “It’s not bad. I’ve been good.”

Oh, not the most grown-up thing I could’ve said.

No, I was going to be big.

We were on a date and I’d voted to be big.

Ugh.

That’d been a stupid decision.

“What kind of question do you have for me?” Daddy didn’t look worried, which made it easier to make some of the butterflies in my stomach sit down nicely. “Should we wait until we have some more privacy?”

Privacy?

Oh.

I could feel my face heating up but I shook my head. “It’s not that kind of question, Daddy.”

Oops.

Ugh.

He chuckled as I tried not to get dramatic. “It’s okay. We’re pretty far back. I think it’s fine.”

Daddy had picked a nice restaurant that had wonderful Italian food and he’d said it had lots of good privacy, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to test that theory. “I’m just…Yes. It’ll be fine.”

I could do it.

I was going to be big and sound calm so he didn’t worry and I didn’t sound silly.

But that seemed like an easier goal if I wasn’t looking at him, so I focused on his plate and the last few bites of his cheesecake. “Austin would like to know about your tattoos.”

First part out.

I’d done great.

“I didn’t tell him much because it seemed very personal.” So far so good and no stressful sounds from Daddy. “I just need to know what I can tell him because he gets…well, excited. But we all have limits.”

I just hadn’t really remembered Daddy’s.

Daddy’s snicker said he could’ve found a more interesting word to describe Austin. “Yes, I can see him getting excited. But thank you for asking about it and protecting my privacy, sweetheart.”

Relief rushed through me when he wasn’t mad and he hadn’t thought it was silly.

Letting out a breath, I finally looked back up at his face. No stress or worries there either. “I wasn’t sure what to say. You always keep your shirt on and I didn’t want to upset you by giving him too many details.”

Daddy cocked his head, making a very cute thinking face and not rushing to answer. I liked that he was taking his time, but my favorite part was that I hadn’t done anything wrong. Even Austin hadn’t been pouty too long because I’d gotten him to play instead.

And I hadn’t told him about the changing me part of our date either.

Yes, everything was going to be fine.

“I think I’ve gotten into the habit of keeping it covered. At first, you’re right, it was private. Then I was hiding it from my family because they’re just a pain in the ass to deal with.” The way Daddy rolled his eyes made me want to laugh, but that didn’t seem nice, so I behaved. “But someplace like the club should be different. I can be me there.”

It didn’t seem like a question but I nodded anyway. “Austin said it’s got to be a safe place for everyone, like one big special fort. That’s hard to remember sometimes, but he was very serious about it.”

He’d made me repeat it over and over until I’d agreed to go see the playroom and meet Uncle Jarrett.

Daddy sighed and pouted. “I really don’t like having to agree with him.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “Naughty Daddy.”

Oops.

He wasn’t worried, though. Daddy winked and smiled and seemed to like making me squirm more than he wanted to worry. “I’ve got a naughty boy, so we match.”

I could feel my face heating up again, which made Daddy grin even wider, but he didn’t let us get distracted thinking about the naughty parts of our last date. “So yes, you can tell Austin about my tattoos, and you can tell him how you felt about them.”

I’d felt naughty about them.

“I…I kind of told him I kissed them and I liked them.” I hadn’t tripped over the words too badly. But as Daddy got another wicked grin on his face, I remembered how good he’d felt under me and I could almost feel his tattoos under my fingers…and my lips.

No, the restaurant was not the right place to think about kissing.

“Should I ask what other interesting things you told Austin?” He made a silly thinking hum as he leaned forward against the table. “Or maybe I should ask what he thought about our date? He doesn’t seem like the type who would’ve waited to ask about it.”
