He snorted. “Nah, babe.” He lifted his hands between them to show her. He wiggled his fingers. “These are skilled, workin’ man’s hands. It would be a waste not to use them.”
She hmm’d as she pulled her key fob out of her pocket and pressed it into his palm. “You’re right, that would be a waste of talent, so we can’t have that. And anyway, Agnes has been feeling kind of lonely.”
“Then, let’s go keep her company.” He grabbed her hand and headed to where their sleds were parked side by side near The Barn. “This gonna be your first threesome?”
She squeezed his hand. “Yes. How about you?”
His step stuttered.
As she tugged him along, Fallon burst out laughing. That sounded so damn good.
He hoped to hear that laugh every damn day for the rest of his life.
He also hoped to fuck she was the last thing he saw when he closed his eyes for the very last time.
He had found his forever.

Finding Forever
A year later…
Fallon sat on the balcony, her face turned up to capture the warmth of the sun. While inhaling the salty air, the bright orange, red and golden globe took its good old time lowering behind the horizon. She closed her eyes and the call of seagulls along with the turquoise waves crashing against the white sandy beach filled her ears.
She had rented the penthouse in the private condo complex on the Gulf side of Florida. They were high enough not to hear anyone on the beach, so it felt like they were alone. Just the two of them.
She smiled when the glass door behind her slid open. She didn’t have to open her eyes because she could feel his presence. She opened them anyway because, while the sunset was beautiful, her ol’ man was even more breathtaking.
Especially since he was shirtless and only wearing a loose pair of knee-length nylon shorts that clung to one of his many impressive assets.
He set the chilled bottle of spring water on the small table next to her lounger along with his beer.
“See what you’ve been missing?” she asked, tipping her head toward the horizon.
He came around to face her and lifted her bare feet from where they were propped on the railing to plant them onto his tattooed chest. “Yep. See it clearly.”
“I meant the sunset over the ocean. Well, technically this isn’t the ocean, it’s actually the Gulf but close enough.”
“Yeah, it’s beautiful but not as beautiful as you.”
She tilted her head and studied his face. “I know you try not to be sweet, but you just failed.”
He grimaced and mouthed a curse in jest. “Just don’t tell anyone.”
She made a locking motion at her lips and tossed away the invisible key. “Secret’s safe with me.”
They were so opposite but they also fit perfectly, like a matching lock and key. Two different pieces that, when put together, created something functional and complete.
“Was just talkin’ to Trip. They got the area cleared and will break ground for the foundation next week.”
It had been a crazy year.
Last April she had stuck around Manning Grove for a month while they helped move Sig, Red and the kids into one of Shelter from the Storm’s temporary double-wide trailers on the farm. Then she and Whip had moved into Sig’s apartment.
After they settled in, she took one week each month to travel to somewhere new. A couple of times, Whip had gone with her. But mostly, he stayed home.
And every time she left, she felt more and more alone.
Every time she left, she missed him that much more. Like she left behind a big chunk of her heart.
Every time she left, she couldn’t wait to go home.
This would be the last trip she would take for a while and she had convinced him to come along for his birthday.
In the time she was home, she had worked with Reese to do the research. They went to the county and found that the deed to the Shirleys’ mountain property had been titled under the Pennsylvania Guardians of Freedom, Inc. That news surprised everyone since the clan had to deal with lawyers and the government to make that happen. And since they were a self-proclaimed sovereign nation they usually refused to deal with any kind of government entity.
But what wasn’t so surprising was the amount of back taxes owed on what now was only land. Since the club’s account had been wiped clean from hiring the Shadows, Fallon used some of her money to buy the property for a fraction of the owed taxes.
Even though she purchased the land, she had the deed put in the Blood Fury’s name. With her now acting as the club’s unofficial financial advisor and making the Fury’s money work for them by investing it smartly, Fallon had no doubt the club would pay her back in a short amount of time.
